Who use the TriAxis connected direct to the board / mix ?

Would you happen to have any recordings of such a setup ? I found the Palmer PDI-09 "The Junction" to have a perfect sound for '80s metal with a Marshall, but never tried it with a TriAxis. It would be interesting to hear how that would work.

    What Would Hetfield Do?

Too bad there option between "often" and "never," there's a large grey area there. I have a TriAxis and a Klon Centaur copy, but never thought of putting them together until I read the Het was doing exactly that. I thought I'd give it a try it and boom, it made the TriAxis sound ten times better...

Programmable Graphic EQ for Guitar Rig

I just thought of another thing that might be of interest to you, the RJM Music Technology, Inc. Mini Amp Gizmo and a MIDI floorboard. No more tap dancing on that huge footswitch, but just one stomp to go from one preset to the other. There's room for 256 presets in there, my hat's off to you if...

Programmable Graphic EQ for Guitar Rig

The BOSS EQ-20 has 10 bands and you can save 9 patches. It doesn't have MIDI though. The Payne Labs mEQ does have MIDI and a whopping 20 patches for five bands. Also, you'll find plenty of rackmount programmable equalizers with proper loads of bands and patches, mostly intended for use in the...

    Recommend pedalbaord set-up

Robert's mods remove most of the mid hump and nothing leaves your low end better intact than a pedal with the ability to blend dry and wet signals. Both Maxons I mentioned and the Møller also have less mids than the originals. Still ample to make one's solo stand out, but that big hump of a...

    Recommend pedalbaord set-up

Instead of using gating to cope with the noise, I'm personally more in favour of making sure no noise enters the signal by using a proper power supply (with isolated grounds) such as the ones made by Voodoo Lab. and good cables like you can get from Bill Lawrence. Some might say a proper power...

    New Mesa/Boogie Rack Product Ideas

You may have missed a few bits, I put some in bold. There will always be a market for the traditional or "old fashioned" tube amplifiers, but I thought we were talking about the (declining) market for rack units here. The TriAxis is still in production, but you can be sure Mesa/Boogie won't...

    New Mesa/Boogie Rack Product Ideas

If anything, it will only get worse. Some of my fellow rack-luggers went back to old fashioned amplifiers and pedals, but most of them made the switch to modelling equipment. There's just no denying that these gizmos are starting to sound really convincing and even there, I think the...

    EQ...Front End or FXLoop

Take the time to learn how to properly dial them in and it's all the EQ a guitarist will ever need. Center frequency, width and level for three bands of your choice can give you more sounds than most graphic equalizers out there. If you can be arsed and think that five sliders for level (no...

Help...info needed on a mosrite fuzzrite

First rule of vintage effects: if a deal seems to good to be true, it usually is. What's an original germanium Fuzzrite worth ? Just whatever somebody on eBay will give for it on that very day. It's crazy to see what some of these pedals go for in this era. Like most germanium pedals...

    Triaxis: Version 1 and/or Version 2

While I agree that it doesn't sound very British, I wouldn't say it compares to any of the other modes. About a year ago, I specifically tracked down a version 1 because I was going to make the switch from a rack build around a Marshall JMP-1 to a Mesa/Boogie loaded rack and simply didn't want...

Satchurator should be called the "Fizzinator!"

It's rubbish, all marketing and no quality, a pedal only the biggest Satriani fanboys will like because of the name. What bothered me the most about it, is that it's not loud enough. I doubt the red box on Joe's board has the actual guts that we can get in the store. It's basically a stock BOSS...

G-major in triaxis effects loop or not?

If you plan on using the record outputs for anything, you should realize that you'll only get the complete sound from the TriAxis without any of the effects if you put it between your TriAxis and 2:Ninety instead of in the FX loop. For my racks, I used an in-ear system for just the sound of my...

my book on building pro guitar rigs is out!

Hey Scott, I'm going to order this one the next time I pay the local music store a visit. I'm selling off most of my gear, but it's really hard to get a good price for rack units these days. Therefore, I'm building a nice rack with some of the things I'm keeping and your book would be a great...

The Prices are firm and do not include shipping. Wire transfers are preferred but if you rather go with PayPal, you pay for the fees. T-REX Bloody Mary Distortion Us Mesa/Boogie users understand that a heavy sound means more than just clogging up the tone with way too much gain. Most pedal...

    New Mesa/Boogie Rack Product Ideas

A low power versatile power amp would be the best thing since sliced milk ! I would buy a Simul-Class 2:Twenty with four EL84s and four 6V6 tubes. Add some tricks that you could also run it with a single EL34, 6L6, KT88 or whatever bulb you have laying around like the THD UniValve. mmm, two...

Please tell me about the "British Shred" on the V1 TriAxis

With over 110 views, I was expecting a bit more than this. Come on, surely one of you has owned, tried or seen a V1 ? The seller is in a bit of a hurry. Any helpful replies would be greatly appreciated.
