like the above poster stated yes, or just cup the tube with the base at your finger tips and the top of the tube being in the cup or palm of your hand a a little twist motion when pulling up does it for me, not really a "twist" just a little turn

I'm going to go back to the jam spot and dick around with it, I don't think it is a rectifier tube. Do you? I am hoping it's not a broken trace on the board or a oxidizing volume pot or anything i hope it's just a tube or something simple
