Good amp for somewhat heavy rock (yet not quite metal)

I've read wonders about VHT's in the sevenstring.org boards, specially the Pitbull Ultra Lead (which is far, far above my budget). Couldn't find any mid gain clips of it, though. Is it too different from the 50/ST? Stiletto, huh? Hmmm... I'll look for some clips in youtube. Someone also...

Good amp for somewhat heavy rock (yet not quite metal)

Thanks for the reply, dude I was considering acquiring a Mesa 20/20 somehow, since they're more common around here than a Peavey one. Nevertheless, they ain't cheap at all, and I don't know if I'd keep using a power amp once I found myself a better job ;). Maybe I should just buy a power amp...

Good amp for somewhat heavy rock (yet not quite metal)

Here's the thing. I've got a POD X3 Live, and I plugged it in front of a Marshall Valvestate combo (not mine) and I was actually pleased with the result. However, these amps are far too expensive around here for their buck - I guess it's a trend thing. So, I started considering saving money to...

quick question: mark head and combo weight?

Thanks a lot for the input, guys. As for the questions... well, I guess not. She'll be coming alone, so, it wouldn't help. I do prefer a head, specially since there are decent affordable speakers here for sale - Mesas are quite rare, though, and they sell for like 3 times the price in USA. It's...

quick question: mark head and combo weight?

Hello folks I did try the search function, but I didn't find exactly what I need... hence the somewhat stupid thread. Thing is, a relative of mine will be spending some time in USA, so I plan on (finally) buying a Mark - preferably a IV, but I'll get whatever is available until then - and ask...

    Acoustic Simulator question

I have a Boss acoustic simulator. It really isn't that good. It doesn't sound like an acoustic at all - however, for rhythms, you're better off using it than with plain clean tones. Anyway, I would change to piezos any day.

    Mark IV

The rhythm tone indeed sounds strange, but I guess that's the idea. It sounds raw and indie, which only shows how versatile can Mark IV be. Cool lead tone. Overall, good work! Thumbs up to you.

My Brazilian Rock/Pop band 'Ordem Inversa'.

I only listened to Quase Perfeito and you know what, I kinda like it. The singer has a good pop voice, and the guitars are pretty good as expected. I'd go easier with the double bass drums, though. They're a little excessive, but perhaps it's just the recording quality which make them show a...

    Jared Leto's guitar

Really? I think he kicks *** - but as a composer only. He really sucks live (singing), and, as far as his guitar playing goes, well... his style doesn't really demand that much technique.

How much is a Mark IV head?

Hello there! Thing is, I live in Brazil and I'm having a hard time finding Mark IV heads for sale, either on ebay or brand new. Could you guys give me some insight concerning the price of a new head in USA or other place else? Thanks in advance.
