Does the FX loop degrade the tone even if the effects are true bypass and in bypass mode?

It's not a proper cab but the cab of a Vox AC15TBX without the amp itself. It has a 12" Blue Celestion speaker. Would that work well? Mostly for studio work, not live gigs.

Had this unit for 10y. Goes into 20:20 and Mesa 1x12 cab. With a clean tone in Rythm Green and gain at 3, I get the following: 1. Very loud hum and buzz on Main Out (can't use it to record at all) 2. This is not the fan noise, as I have an off/on switch for the fan, but rather an annoying hum, like 60Hz and its harmonics. Wonder if anyone has the same problem? Is there a mod?

I put a $2 switch mounted in the front of the 20-20 to turn the fan off/on when recording. Turns out that I always leave it in the off position, and I never have a problem. Now, this is a studio setup and I never use the 20-20 past 10 o'clock so this might not apply if you play louder, but then...

I have this low frequency hum from my 20-20. it's manageable via a nosie-gate, but when I sustain lead notes with a small amount of compression, the noise comes up noticeably at the end, just before the gate closes. I suspect the power transformer to be inducing such hum? This is a studio setup...
