V:25 FX loop tone degradation in bypass mode?

Does the FX loop degrade the tone even if the effects are true bypass and in bypass mode?

Open back Vox cab with Blue 12" for V:25

It's not a proper cab but the cab of a Vox AC15TBX without the amp itself. It has a 12" Blue Celestion speaker. Would that work well? Mostly for studio work, not live gigs.

Why does the Triaxis have 2 outputs?

Thanks. The Switchblade is an integral part of my entire rig, so definitely not worried about tonal impact as it has none anyways, or whatever it has I have lived with for 10 years. I understand that only one half of the V5 tube would be used if I use one TA output. I'm thinking instead to use...

Why does the Triaxis have 2 outputs?

I have a stereo rig with a triaxis and a 20-20 plus a bunch of rack units for FX. All routing controlled wth a Switchblade. Currently I used the two Triaxis outputs for left right feeding into stereo FX but I do realize it is mono pre FX. Is there a difference between doing that versus only...

Sigi, I have exactly the same problem as you and don't know what to do anymore. Did you ever find a solution?

Triaxis: Loud hum on Main out, quiet on FX send

So I changed all the tubes (which included some NOS Mullards) and put brand new Mesa tubes. No difference. Also note that I use a Mesa 20:20 power amp with brand new tubes. However, I made a breakthrough discovery which is that when the switch for FX send (no wired connections in/to FX send and...

Triaxis: Loud hum on Main out, quiet on FX send

Had this unit for 10y. Goes into 20:20 and Mesa 1x12 cab. With a clean tone in Rythm Green and gain at 3, I get the following: 1. Very loud hum and buzz on Main Out (can't use it to record at all) 2. Extremely loud hum and buzz on Rec Out (can't even use it to play) 3. Dead quiet on FX Send Loop...

    Hum noise on 20:20

This is not the fan noise, as I have an off/on switch for the fan, but rather an annoying hum, like 60Hz and its harmonics. Wonder if anyone has the same problem? Is there a mod?

mesa boogie 20/20 -> annoying fan noise :(

I put a $2 switch mounted in the front of the 20-20 to turn the fan off/on when recording. Turns out that I always leave it in the off position, and I never have a problem. Now, this is a studio setup and I never use the 20-20 past 10 o'clock so this might not apply if you play louder, but then...

    20-20 60Hz hum

I have this low frequency hum from my 20-20. it's manageable via a nosie-gate, but when I sustain lead notes with a small amount of compression, the noise comes up noticeably at the end, just before the gate closes. I suspect the power transformer to be inducing such hum? This is a studio setup...

    TriAxis or Recto Recording Pre?

Thanks for your reply. I guess I don't know enough about the 3 types of Mesa models, or their sounds. Perhaps it would be quite useful if you could associate names of guitar players next to each type, so i can relate better, when you have 5mn. Thanks if you can... and thanks anyways!

    Shareware software for TriAxis

I read an interview of someone who claims to use a shareware program to control settings of the triAxis from a computer 9via MIDI I assume). I couldn't find such software on the web via Google? Any ideas?

    TriAxis or Recto Recording Pre?

Looking for a recording rig. I own a Mesa 2:20 power amp, and look to add a preamp for fat lead tone. Which unit is better for the fat saturated lead tone I'm after (Satriani, Vai)? Which one would work best with the 2:20 and a marshall 4x12 with Vintage 30's? Which one has the best direct OUT...
