this combo was absolutely sick (esp. when compared to my 212 gflex which didn't sound/respond as well). 150 watt MS-12's in the 412. does or did mesa make 212 cabs with these speakers? thx.

and how close can you get to a Marshall type sound (crunch) with the ch2 on the roadster?

So my Rivera has that same boomy feel of a recto (with a slight EL34 in-your-face Marshall crunch). But the clean sucks bad. What's a good price for a minty Roadster with a few yrs on warranty?

What are the diffs b/n RK2 and roadster in terms of the preamp? I think I read that the RK 2 had an upgraded ch1 (cleans) and brit on ch2. Is this true as well for Roadsters and since when? Is there a version 2 for Roadsters?

afaik, Mesa rebrands JJ tubes. you may as well buy from eurotubes, it's cheaper. i had problems with a brand new stiletto from mesa hollywood a few years back and the tubes kept shorting. returned for a refund.

sounds like you need an Axe FX. any tone you want. i'm about to buy a roadster. i had a RK1 and liked the spongy with recto tracking when playing along with Kind of Blue...

try new power tubes and an extension speaker closed cab.

badass sounds come from JMP-1 into EL34 dual monobloc loaded with JJE34L (think ministry/filter).

I doubt that Mesa factory says it's ok to use 4xEL34(L) in an amp that does not have a 6L6/EL34 switch. I love E34L's but don't recommend using 4 of them in this amp...
