    pre 500: substance or hype?

Yea, just to clarify they always came with V30's. I actually have the prototype slanted cab with the diamond plate on it. I had to wait to acquire it till Boogie was sure they were able to have the plating made to fit the top cab. I have both the top and bottom cab. Been using 'em since 92! :D

    Rectifier Lineage...

Ok, I know this is digging up a way old thread, but just thought I would clarify some info cause I actually got my Dual Rec. right from Boogie in 92 when they were in Rockaway NY. At the time they first came out, the chrome chassis was definitely not a custom order. I got my first Rec. from...

Kt77's in the 2:100?? Anyone try this??

Curious since the 2:100 will take EL34s if anyone has retubed this amp with KT77s? I like the top end with the 6l6s but I am wondering if the KTs would bring out more definition in the bottom. Thanks.

Man, its been years since I owned the quad but from what I remember yes, lead 2 is controlled entirely by channel 2.

Super noob question (please don't get mad)

Think of it this way. Inside of a head is a preamp and poweramp. The Triaxis is just a preamp. You need both to drive a cabinet. You need to do a search for an in depth explanation but thats the gist of it.

    DR #211 on ebay

Ya know, back in the day there was a little "shell swapping" going on in some places. Wasnt Boogie directly nor was it any music store that I knew of, but I can tell you that some of those early heads that are floating around may have had a different head shell at one time. Especially the...

    What Would You Do?

Well I wasnt trying to to talk you into the Switchblade cause for some ppl it might be overkill. I just think your much better off with one amp and then going for the midi switching option. Far less headaches in the long run.

    midi controller

All depends on how elaborate you want your pedal to be. If your just looking for basic switching {i.e. just program patches and no c.c. stuff then you can get away with a pedal for as low as $25-50. I just pickes up an ART X-12 for that price used and keep it as my backup. I use the GC Pro and...

    What Would You Do?

Something to think about... You might run into serious ground loop issues with two amps and wind up spending some serious $$$ trying to get rid of it. You already have more than one channel on the amp now so why not utilize it. I am partial to midi to switch everything and just got rid of my...

    CLEANING UP MY SOUND

Ok,seriously.. You need to go and try a Mark IV! .... You have tried different speakers, different tubes, pedals..etc. and its still not what your digging. Realistically your spending $$ on trying make an amp you dont like sound good when you may plug into a Mark and fall in love right away. I...

    different Triaxis.....please help

Disassembled is correct in his post and here is something to elaborate: "The TriAxis was introduced to the world in October 1992 and began with serial #T0001. That would have been the 1.0 software version. In January 1993 the version 2.0 software was introduced. That would have been somewhere...

    different Triaxis.....please help

What may help a little bit is what type of music do you play and what sound are you going for? I have a Fat Mod Triaxis and I had borrowed my buddies original Triaxis {non-Fat}. I have an early Jackson with EMG'S and the original Triaxis was nice and tight doing triplets on the low E...

I Want to Sound Like Hetfield, Please Help!!

Thanks. You seem to have some nice vintage pieces as well. I had Recto #189 also but got rid of it many years ago. I am the original owner of all my stuff except the Triaxis.Mark Snyder had basically helped put my rig together and cutom built quite a few pieces I have. That was way back when he...
