the ej suited me. love the neck and finish. the pick ups are not as airy as my '63 but they compensate by being punchier while still retaining that 'strat' sound beautifully. it's now my workhorse and i'd replace it if i had to.

i have one. really like it. versatile, punchy and crisp. what is it about the barber that is so much better? be interested to hear.

my strat wins hands down. the others sound variously harsh, muddy, woody or simply too undefined. the strat really sings though and sounds rich and full, with a broad range of harmonics. have to love it!

my lonestar classic died on me last night. i switched on and .... nothing. the slo-blo has blown and so i am assuming that a power tube has gone. however, can anyone say for sure that the fuse rating in the UK is the same as in the US, viz 4amp? also, if i replace the fuse and switch on again...

would the glasgow area be any good?
