Eminence Delta Pro 12A with Mark Series

My son replaced the C90 celestion in his Mk III with a Delta Pro 12a a few months ago and is totally happy with it. He tried three different C90's, all had annoying edge yowl. The Delta handles 300 watts & is supposedly very similar to an EVM12L, some say the top end is smoother. It's great for...

    Eminence speaker in Mk. combo?

Anyone have experience with any of these Eminence speakers in a Mk combo. Swamp Thang Legend 121 Red White & Blues Delta Pro 12a Looking for a high power speaker with plenty of headroom for jazz/fusion & considering trying one in a Mk.III. Anyone have an opinion?

C90 vs. EVM 12 L -- in MK IV 1x12 Std. Hardwood Combo

I suggest you read my recent thread on C90 buzz (edge yowl). I'm sure the EV wouldn't suffer from this but check the C90 out very carefully!

    C90's buzzing at high volumes

Here is the reply from Mesa to an email I sent regarding the hideous harmonics in their C90 speakers: Greetings, It appears what you are experiencing is what is known as “Edgy Owl” which a known Celestion phenomenon that occurs when certain frequencies resonate on the speaker cone. There is no...

    C90's buzzing at high volumes

    C90's buzzing at high volumes

Both amps have relatively new caps.. I'm sure its a speaker issue because it sounds like the cones are kinda distorting and buzzing. I just discovered today that it only happens on a few notes, so its almost like the speakers are producing harmonics or something. I'll record it and post some...

    C90's buzzing at high volumes

I've just been playing through my studio .22 with one of the c90's fitted. No matter what guitar I use, be it the AS-200 or the strat copy or even a nylon string, it has the weird problem. If anyone has a 1x12 boogie combo with a C90, could you try this for me.. Crank your amp up to about 6 on...

    C90's buzzing at high volumes

I recently bought a mark III combo. It came with a C90 speaker. Whenever I play notes above the 12th fret at a high volume (sometimes other notes too) the speaker buzzes (i guess you would call it farting)... anyway, I went ahead and bought 2 C90's off ebay because I thought the one that came...

    Studio 22 power tubes

I have a new matched pair of Electro-Harmonix EL84 tubes marked Ip 23 & Gm 7,900. Anyone know if these are suitable with the Mesa fixed bias & what the numbers refer to? What sort of characteristics would they have i.e. early or late break-up?

    Mk III ghost notes

It's the speaker, a Mesa Celestion C90. In the top octave of the top string and the master above 4 the ghost notes come through. Anyone experienced this with this speaker? I guess I'll have to replace it.

    Mk III died

What have I done to my son's newly-aquired Mk III? I suggested I replace the filter caps as they were original (1986) & succesfully did the same on his Studio 22 a few months ago. Seemed to go smoothly, used F&T & Atom Sprague of the correct value. After a few minutes of playing (amp sounded...

    Mk III ghost notes

I'm a proud new owner of a 60watt non-reverb non-EQ red stripe Mk III. I bought it purely on the basis of its great open tone, excellent for contemporary jazz & fusion styles. (I also needed more headroom than I get with my Studio 22). I have a problem with ghost notes when I push it, an octave...
