Smoking Mk1RI -- Service in North Jersey?

If you care to go a bit west from Bloomfield my friend has used these guys a few times and likes them. http://www.gti.net/junebug/dave/ Dave's Sound They are on route 10 around 1/2 mile east of 287. They should be able to answer all of your questions as far as the warranty. Also what might help...

Kind of surprised at the negatives....

Would like to get a V in the future (maybe order one in November or so) currently have an IV as my main amp. The V is certainly a versatile beast! The two things I get the biggest kick out of is the “no midi” complaint. Hello, the chassis is only so big, also start adding that type of stuff...

    Studio .22+ or Express 5:25?

A 22+ was my first Boogie great little amp as far as Mark-ish tones kind of but the EL84’s do give it a flavor all of its own. Coming from a Mark IV you may find it a little limiting most of the controls are shared so there is always a little compromising going on. With this amp the 5 band EQ is...

Who inspired you to play a boogie?

Although I was attracted to Carlos and Brad what really made me crave a Boogie was another amp that I had! I don’t know how many of you remember the “Seymour Duncan Convertible”. For those of you who don’t and are a little curios http://www.diyguitarist.com/GuitarAmps/Convert.htm Basically a...

What Midi Foot Controller do you guys use?

Thank you There is one thing that drove me a little nuts at first, I"m sure you get a chuckle! Notice on the pedal tray that the connections from the pedals to the audio switcher are crossed, yep that's it! I wish the the loop jacks where reversed so I could bring down the cables straight...

What Midi Foot Controller do you guys use?

Thank you. I now kind of see what you are too. Basically a good effect processor that has switching abilities for your amp. You really don't need a crazy foot controller. Check this out. http://keyboards-midi.musiciansfriend.com/product/Behringer-FCB1010-MIDI-Footcontroller-?sku=182469 I am...

What Midi Foot Controller do you guys use?

Hey Monsta it’s me again guess we are both home today. My board of choice is the Rocktron All Access it will do everything you listed and more as you can see you can bank up and down and there are 15 control buttons, it also supports 2 real time controllers (volume pedals). This board can be...

What processor do you guys use & why?

All the units I listed including the G-Major which you’re looking at will address all of your midi concerns. But as far as the channel switching thing for your amp only the G-Major will do that. Preset spillover on any unit depends on a few factors, how drastically different the block...

What processor do you guys use & why?

I give you three that I have used in the past year and recommend all of them. GSP 1101 Rocktron Xpression Axe FX All three of the units are pretty true to the amps tone and that’s why I like them all! (GSP 1101) 4 cable method, PC editor (through MIDI) this processor I find a little unique the...

Which Wah do you guys use????

My 535Q came with a red Fasel. How old is 535Q? Replaced the inductor DCR-1SR with a red Fasel and it was pretty easy. The one in the 535Q looks pretty easy also as you can see in the photo below

john and Mark IV last night.

The small club thing is a unique. Some people have implied in the past that he relies on his rig (and all of the effects). When I have seen him with his wife (Rena) nothing could be further from the truth (guitar Mark IV DONE!) When you see him in this setting. I really appreciate how great he...

    Mark IV (lead drive shaft)

Hey willrock Thanks for the quick reply, guess I'll use a little adhesive glue for now and order the part I dont mind the soldering part its just getting to it might be a bit of a nightmare since it sits on the lower row. But on the "bright" side (no pun intended) I don't use the pull bright...

    Mark IV (lead drive shaft)

Hey I was cleaning my Mark IV and ended up pulling away the knob and shaft of the lead drive knob (which is also push pull) Upon inspecting the shaft it is not broken and viewing into the amp I can see the that is also intact. If i put the shaft back in its fine feels normal and is active...

mesa mark iv- 6l6's or el34's??

I have been flip flopping for years but lately have settled on the 4x6l6c (SED =C= Winged) its all taste really there is no one is better than the other. So I recommend just get a pair of EL34's to have around if you do any recording it's only going to make the amp that much more versatile.

trem springs strengths, lengths and even gauges

Hi I have two JPM-100’s that I have used 9 gauge strings with for years I now have it in my head to use 10’s, anyway did the setup neck intonation and so on everything went well and pretty pleased with the overall results. During the process had to add springs to my trem even with the claw...

Anybody looking for Mark IV's , Here now it's your chance

I hear you there once I got the BB Preamp I really feel it just doubled my channels one modest setting on the BB sounds great on R1 R2 & R3. As for the Mark V yes I am interested but I will not sacrifice my IV for it.

can I put JJ's in my Mark IV

You really need to contact the guy (tell him what amp you have) and see if he has a set within Mesa Boogie specs. He has allot of sales with great feedback and seems to deal in nothing but tubes (so that’s a good thing). Mesa’s have a fixed bias so the tubes must be in a certain range. Run to...
