    For the more extreme metal side of the spectrum, I find the amp prefers fatter boosts as opposed to a TS style mid bump (at least to my ears, using Mark IV or Extreme on pentode), so I use a TC Spark set to "Fat", or an MXR Custom Badass Modified OD with the 100hz boosted a bit while backing off...
