Looks like it could be black, purple or blue stripe, from how it looks in that darkened lighting. Definitely not red or green looking to me. Could use a shot of above the power cord with a torch on it, so we can see the colour of the stripe.

Try moving that V6 12at7 to V7...! (Phase inverter) You may get some more gain and have the tone you speak of, but the 3d ness (and maybe the way it hits the power section) seems better IMHO.
