Actually, now that I'm really thinking about it, a Simul 395 would be even better, as it has switching of it's modes, better fit for the JP2C and it's MIDI.

I have a Simul 295 which is fantastic, but I have a chance to own a Strat 500, how do they compare ? Where does the Strat 400 fit in ? I've heard people say the 400 sounds thicker than the 500 which seems kind of counter intuitive...any opinions here ? Thanks !

I was told the ++ adds 20 db or so gain, which I think would be very hard to do without adding a tube stage, anyone have any ideas ?

Well, the Mark V is Simul... run it in stereo with a JP2C ? I’d love to have a Mark V running all EL34s...

Buy a Simul Class poweramp and run W/D/W with it and the JP2C, I LOVE running mine with my Simul 295 this way...

Petrucci uses a tube screamer on his board, and Hetfield the tc booster and Aphex parametric EQ with his IIC+, so don’t rule out help from outboard gear to get what you need. Stryper used the Furman PQ3 and Brad Gillis too... I’d still try it with a 4x12, IDK about the V12s, but some Boogie...

I’ve never thought fixed bias is the way to go, try to find some good NOS Sylvania, RCA, Philips etc tubes... and have a bias pot put in the amp. What speakers are you running in the cab ? Is it a 4x12 or a 2x12 ?

The Mark III May have a bit more gain than a IIC+, but there is a + and a ++ mod for the Mark III that makes it awesome. The ++ mod is like 26 db more gain than stock.
