Adding an extra cooling fan to a RA-100 head?

Was looking at this image from a recent post and wondered if it might be prudent to add an extra cooling fan to my RA-100 head to help ensure this never happens to my amp (story goes that the owner's Mrs knocked the amp on whilst cleaning and it was left on for some time - still, shouldn't do...

RA-100. Narrowing down the faulty tube?

Thanks for the reply and advice. Discovered it was the reverb tube. When I toggled the reverb on and off the crackling went away. Would like to add more cooling to this amp if possible. Was concerned to see that post where the guy's RA-100 had all but destroyed itself just because his Mrs...

RA-100. Narrowing down the faulty tube?

Hi guys. When I've been playing my RA-100 for an hour or so I start to get that 'fluttering' / 'crackling' noise. It's at a consistent volume and doesn't change / disappear when I change channels or switch the amp down to 50w. It seems independent of anything I do which is making narrowing...

Show us your custom finish Recs.

Well, mine was a bit scuffed-up when I got it so I had the case blasted and powder coated (two coat process to give it some texture). It is what it is I guess. Just a bit of fun. Got anything to show off?

Mini-Rec pot replacement. Value? Anything to be aware of?

Thanks. I'll try the local distributor as I'm in New Zealand.

Mini-Rec pot replacement. Value? Anything to be aware of?

Thought I'd do a bit of preventative maintenance so sprayed electrical contact cleaner in my pots. Well, it was a dumb idea since the gain pot on the Vintage / Modern channel now crackles and jumps to max when turned. So, at least it looks like a straight-forward swap-out. Anybody know the pot...

    Fixed my dead Mini-Rectifier

I guess it's OK to post a fix rather than a problem? Bought a Mini-Rec. Worked fine but looked tatty so decided to dismantle it and clean it up blah blah. In the process double-checked it had the right fuse. Reassembled after disappointing paint results  and it was dead. Nothing. Just...

    F50 Rear Valve Mesh Protector

Easier to secure the cable lower down rather than worry about the mesh. I always remove mine and they're stacked in the garage until I sell it.

LSS back to workshop again. LSC any similar issues?

My new LSS is on its way back to the workshop for the second time. Contemplating a change to the LSC assuming it doesn't suffer its own issues? Hadn't anticipated the additional cost but rather that than own an unreliable amp.

No output 5w lead channel after main fuse blew. Help?

Apologies, guys. A little research around the forum and I discovered it was the rectifier valve (it was in fact the 5 and 15w settings that weren't working). Had a spare in another amp and now all's well. Sorry for the unnecessary thread.

No output 5w lead channel after main fuse blew. Help?

Owned my LSS for just a few weeks. Bought new but 'old stock' (it's two years old). Used it for maybe an hour at home. Shortly after start-up today the main fuse blew. When I replaced it I found the amp seemed to work fine apart from the 5w position on the lead channel. As I switched to that...

    LSS - Protruding Bolt

Hi. EDIT: Apologies guys. A little more research around the forum and I've found the answer. Sorry for the unnecessary thread. I've spent a lot of time on Harley forums and suspect this is the equivalent of 'the oil thread'..... :-( Molly. Firstly sorry for jumping in with a...
