    affordable mixer/interface and recording software

I recently upgraded to Pro Tools because I'm taking outside work in my studio, but I've been using a program called n-Track from FASoft. It's a very versatile program that I really like a lot. The full version of it is very reasonable at $64. You can download the demo version of the program at...

    DIY is the ticket!

DIY is definitely a great way to go. I have a few of them, and I love them! As a matter of fact, my main worship team amp is an 18 watt TMB. The first amp I ever built from scratch. If nothing else, I just love putting them together. It's very relaxing for me.

So who here plays a PRS (bring pics)

Sweet 245, Bob! BTW, are you in the bay area of NorCal by chance? I knew a guy named Bob who played guitar for a band called Landshark years ago. Just wondering if you're the same guy.

questions for using effects on Dual Recto solo heads

My setup is not too confusing. I'm running a Line6 DL4 delay, a Rocktron Vertigo Vibe and a modded Crybaby wah in front of my Dual Rec with great results. I use a custom built multi-looper which takes each effect in and out of the signal path independently. However, a single loop would probably...

    THD Yellow Jackets Questions

First question, what amp are you putting them in, and what tubes are they going to replace? The grid bias models work in most of the amps I know of, but you can email them directly at [email protected] if you have any questions. I've met Andy and Ed, they're very nice people that will...

PRS update - from the man himself...

I've met him a few times as well. He's an ultra nice guy. At the PRS Experience that was held at the factory in September, I had the privilege of having Paul reenlist me for four more years in the armed forces. That was really cool! He does really care about his customers and their level of...

So who here plays a PRS (bring pics)

As does the SCT. Raspberry or Black Cherry? It's a little hard to tell with the lighting.

So who here plays a PRS (bring pics)

Have I already asked when this was made? I know of a few people whose birded '96 CE's were made within a few weeks of mine. BTW, that has a really intense figuring for a CE! Nice guitar!!

    TS-9 vs TS-808 vs OD808

They're all basically the same circuit. There are slight variations in tone due to different components, but any one could easily and inexpensively be modded to sound like the other.

    Why I didn't like Marshalls...

The V stands for Vintage - I.E. Vintage 30 speakers. I had G12T75 speakers in my original 1960B and they sounded dull and lifeless. I dumped them for a pair of V-30s and a pair of Greenbacks, now the cab sounds awesome!

Korn Diezel, 7 string speaker safety, etc.

I play a lot of dropped B stuff using standard 6 stringed guitars with really heavy strings. I play a Mesa Dual Rec into Marshall cabs with a combination of V30's and Greenbacks. No problems whatsoever here.

    Butchering a PRS SE

Birds and Moons in da house! 1. A set of TonePros locking studs (about $50 for a set) are the quickest way to add huevos to it. http://www.tonepros.com/ 2. Most of the tone snobs over at BaM are replacing all of the electronics with kits from RS Guitar Works...

Would you buy 1/2 a PRS?

Yeah, you can get any of the SE models for somewhere in the $400-600 range. They're made overseas, but they're quite good for the money. I have four American models and one SE, with plans on getting another SE. As far as the "Frankenprs", it's something I'd have to actually see and play to...

    Post your Rig!

I decided to try a set out for myself. I put a 4" model on each of the top two speakers in my Marshall 4x12. I'm quite surprised that they work as well as they do, but I'm really not surprised. It's an amazingly simple idea that just sounds great!

The First Amp You Ever Played On A Live Gig?

Back in the mid 70's for me. Peavey Standard head with a 1x15 cabinet. It sounded awful.

    Sennheiser Wireless G2

I'm running a similar setup. Variety of PRS guitars with the 172 G2 into a Mesa 3Ch Recto. I run my sensitivity up pretty high and get occasional peaks as well. I don't think it'll hurt anything, and apparently there's some mild compression going on in there to prevent it from rasping out when...
