Controlling V25 MkIV channel from guitar pots

It sounds like you need a lower output pickup in the les paul like a vintage type humbucker and preferably with a coil split option.

    MarkV90 reverb tank leads....

The white lead goes toward the back. The black lead goes toward the front (also towards the preamp tube in front of the PT).

Any specific reason the Long style tube shield is used for the V1 position of the Mark V & Road King amps?

But the longer shield doesn’t have anything to do with changing the tube itself. It makes removing the shield easier so you have one hard and one easy thing to get to instead of two hard things to get to. But the hard part is the tube anyway so the shield doesn’t really change much.

    V 25 versus V 35

My opinion would be that unless you need the “solo” knob functions, footswitch control of those solo functions, or the extra 10 watts, then the 25 should be fine. The rest of the features look pretty much the same. I don’t know what the price difference is though….

You think I need to replace tubes?

Perhaps you left the cable plugged in the guitar one day? That will eat the battery?

Amp turning off and on again quickly

I am glad you posted this. I got my MKV in 2014 and about a year or two later, the diodes were replaced. The "word on the street" at the time was that it was a bad batch of diodes. I don't know if that was coming from Mesa (maybe they thought that at the time) or if it was coming from guys on...

Amp turning off and on again quickly

Oh, I forgot about trying that! I built a Mojotone Princeton Reverb clone a few months ago and have been having so much fun playing that that I haven't even turned on my MV in probably a month. But last night, I powered it up and while it was in STBY, it clicked quickly once, then about 10...

Go to the Mesa parts store. Store.mesaboogie.com Look under logo panels and screws.

    Mark V 35 Loop Question

Sorry for that. I didn’t realize the MV35 didn’t have the FX Loop Selection Switches like the MV (90W).

    Mark V 35 Loop Question

You can have the loop on channel 1 only using the panel switches. But if you want certain pedals on for certain channels in more complex ways you will need an effects switching setup like the Boss ES-5 or ES-8 or another manufacturer (can’t think of any specific ones but there are some out there).

Amp turning off and on again quickly

Thanks. I will try that. It is certainly easy enough to give it a shot.

Amp turning off and on again quickly

My amp does this too. I would really like to know what causes it if you ever do find out. I have had mine for about 6 years. I DID have the other "bad diodes" problem and had that repaired at about the second year. It is a different issue I think.... The diode thing would reset the footswitch...

    Volume Question

You may have missed “Mace’s” suggestion to check the send level knob on the back. Here, it gets put below an advertisement that “isolates” it on its own and is easy to miss. The FX send level can very significantly adjust the overall volume.

90's Grunge/thicker tones and Cleans from mark v

Try Ch2 modes and boost up and experiment with the 240 and 750 HZ EQ sliders. There is a lot of “thickness” to be had in there.

If you want an official answer from Boogie, just call or email them. They have been really responsive when I have contacted them.

Does anyone else's Mark V do this?

Ok. I "think" I can hear a slight "pfft" when I switch from "preset" to "sliders". I have to be honest though, I am not sure why this is a concern.

Does anyone else's Mark V do this?

I wasn't able to reproduce it but I didn't have the volume up very loud.

Eventide H9 Coloring Tone in FX Loop

Hi and thanks for the reply. It does accept line level signals or instrument levels. Probably one of the reasons for it being fully DSP. It analyzes the signal and adjusts for appropriate levels. The control app even allows the user to see the levels at the inputs and outputs and adjust...
