    Bias question

I am getting a pretty good amount of hum (home, gigs and studios) that really sounds like a Bias problem in my Mark III black dot. I looked at the schematics and there is no adjustment that I see. Is the way to adjust the bias that I am missing? Thanks in advance for any info and help on this...

    Mark III channel difference

Just a question for all the Mark III owners. I am noticing that there is a difference on channel 3 depending on the switch position of the channel 1/2 footswitch position. This may not be news to some owners but this is my 1st Mark series, It's a Black dot model. If I have channel 1 selected...

MarkIII green stripe R2 volume mod

Alternative Foot Switch Options for Mark III head?

I used some old black star foot switches and just used some tape over th logo on the front to label mine. Just a heads up, you do have to have the dropping resistor on the LED on the switch to make it work correctly.

    Add your Mark III settings

First off, Everyone ears are after something different so this is just a starting point for you. The master volume level makes this setting work well with either a Les Paul/Firebird/Strat very well for me. If you play low on the master this will feel a bit fuzzy but if you can put the master...

    Ryth 2 gain structure question

Mark III no stripe. I have the preamp section shown below and this is the area that Ryth 2 is at. Is the resistor I have pointed out the one that would control the drive for R2? Thanks for any info !

Mark III - Keep the bass down or lose your mind like I did!

LMAO! Yea we all learn about that one. I play a 58VOS Les Paul through mine and I rarely get the bass above 2 and usually around 1-1.5.. The louder you play the less bass you will want as well. Enjoy !

    R2 mod question (solved)

Well I have been playing the amp with the mod R2 now for a few days and I have it tuned in nicely! It does seem to me that once I was able to turn R2 up a bit I find the tone of R2 is better than it was before, probably just more signal made it beef up some. Since I replaced the direct out I...

    R2 mod question (solved)

LMAO! You must have known I had the amp open. I had three different values of pots here and I was going to try a few when you replied. I put in a 250k ( I think it would be even better with a 100K but its working fine) and its working great. I have a feeling once I get it set I will not move...

    R2 mod question (solved)

Well, after reading a bunch of mod posts I am confused on what value to actually purchase for the Ryth 2 volume mod. The schematic says its a 150K, another post says its a 1.5K and when I measure the resistor that already in there its nowhere near that (looks like someone before me tried to do a...

    Help with Channel volume (Solved)

Thanks for the link. I am going to do the MOD this weekend. I use a TC Electronics reverb pedal in the effects loop for reverb but thanks for the tip either way ! Guess that means I can use the pot on the back for the mod and disconnect the reverb tank.... Many thanks !

    Help with Channel volume (Solved)

Mark III no stripe. Channel two is quite a bit lower volume than the Clean channel. IS there any way to change its relationship volume wise to channel one? Any idea which resister controls the volume of channel two? Thanks!

    Noisy Mark III (Solved)

Thanks ! I would like to have them rework mine but with the weight of this amp it would be hellish expensive to ship it to them I am guessing. That may be the only thing to do in the end but I ordered a new set of preamp tubes that should be here the 1st of the week so I can trade out a few...
