So i got the Eventide Timefactor and I've had it for about a week, and it is what I've been missing and is a game changer for me. I wish i would have had it all along as i have definitely been missing out. Thanks to everyone who recommend it as it gets along very well with the Mark V.

I think that there are a few things going on. Newer models definitely sound better. There's no doubt that older models have a harshness that is almost impossible to get rid of or eq out. The amp begs to be tweaked to the point were it could be too overwhelming for some. My 5150 gets turned on...

I wasn't talking about boosting to add gain. I along with most people boost their 5150's and there is tons of gain. But yes, there should be plenty of gain on tap.

i always boost ch 2 & 3 with a custom ts808. i find it kinda dull without. also, unless your playing bedroom levels it's more about tight than gain. i just went for a new tone, a cross between overkill and pantera on iv mode, 750 all the way down, 6600 and 80 almost all the way up, and crank it...

I had to have the same reverb repair on mine, somewhat common on early models. Find another Mark V and compare it . There must be a used or new one around were you live?
