    LSC trouble

I checked suggestion with reverb, no difference. The treble pot and loop bypass seem to affect it the most. Channel 2 is totally fine regardless of reverb or loop settings...

    LSC trouble

Hey all, Quick question... My LSC has static and noise on channel one (intermittent). I have checked guitar cables etc. Noise is only on channel one. I have swapped pre-amp tubes one at a time, but still cannot isolate source. I can change the noise by making adjustments with treble pot. I have...

    EJ Strat???

Well, I picked it up yesterday! I really like this guitar. The 12" radius feels like my Les Paul but sounds like a Strat. I played the white one and even went to SamAsh and looked for another one to compare. They didn't have an EJ, but I tried the Yngwie model because I have been looking at that...

    Yamaha RGX 312

Hey all, My son wants a guitar for Christmas. I found a Yamaha RGX 312 for $100.00. It is H/s/s with coil tap. Seems like a no-brainer, but I thought I'd ask here because I have no experience with Yamaha electrics. What do you think? Thanks in advance. JoeVFR

    anyone not like Reaper?

Hey guys, I primarily use Cubase LE4 for midi. A big pain with it is I can't use EZ Drummers multi outs. I checked out Reaper and actually prefer its GUI. Is it pretty stable? I would like buy it rather than spend $200 to upgrade to Cubase 4. I use a VS2400 to record audio, but it would be nice...

    dbfs levels for rhythm guitar

Rotary is on this one... Equipment has a nominal level where it works best. For most, it is now 0bdvu which equates roughly to -18dbfs on DAWS. You will hear the argument about not using full bit depth if you don't record closer to 0bdfs. It may have been more of a problem with 16 bit recording...

    Finding that special amp ?

The LoneStar Special is a great amp. The LoneStar Classic is another one to consider. It is 6l6 and a lot of players like it with humbuckers. The new model is able to be run at 100/50/10 watts. You can also use el-34's with it. I have the classic and play a Strat and Les Paul. They both sound...

decision made im getting a LSC

+1 on the LoneStar. I have the older classic without the 10 watt option. I am sure it is even more versatile, but I haven't gotten all the sounds out of this one yet. I haven't even tried the EL34's either. This amp in not going anywhere soon. Enjoy yours!

    NEED OPINIONS...on recording gear/hardware...

I am using a Roland VS2400. It is a great all in one unit. I use it to record our band, and do recording at home. In that regard, the portability is great. I also run a VGA monitor with it, so the display is easy to work with. The Roland units have a card that runs third party software, so you...

hook up to a mixing board

Most people will mic the cabinet and run that through a channel in the mixing board. You can get different tones by experimenting with mic placement. It's very easy and very flexible. Depending on the size of the gig, you could just play without going through the PA.

    Lonestar updates

I have an older one and I am very happy with it. I wish it would have had the 10 watt option when I got it, but I won't be trading mine in anytime soon. If I do anything, it would be pick up a LSS to go along with it. I see posts with guys changing the tubes but to be honest, I have gigged with...

    What's your recording setup?

My setup Roland VS2400 Shure SM 57, 87A Alesis SR16 Sometimes I'll use my old RP-10 direct into the VS. Other times, LSC with a Strat and a Les Paul. Most effects done through VS

    Lonestar: Classic vs Special

That's an easy switch to miss, but makes a huge difference. The LSC has a lot more gain when you engage the drive switch.

Lonestar Classic (50w set on both channels - 4OHMS or 8OHMS?

I also have the LSC 2x12 set to 50 watts all the time. I also use the diode for tracking instead of the tube. I have played with the 4 ohm setting and personally I did not notice much of a difference. The manual says it may appear to be a "brighter" sound. I play a Strat and a LesPaul. The LP...

    LSS or ...?

I haven't played one yet but, isn't the Roadster supposed to handle that territory as well? I think it has Lonestar cleans and it is a rectifier.

    bloody britain

Guys, You cannot imagine how cheap we have it here in the states. I travel all over the world and wonder how people can afford to live. I would not be able to afford the size house I have anywhere but here in the Midwest. At least we can be strategic about taxes (and I am not implying not paying...

Need help quick - LSC 1x12 or 2x12

I am with MaxBoogie on this one, I prefer the 2x12. That's the great thing about choices though. Try 'em both and you choose. The Lonestars are incredibly "tweakable" just like any other Boogie. If you go with the one or the 2x12, I don't think you will be disappointed.

LSC owners- Sell LSC and buy new one?

It would be nice to have the 10 watt option, but I am not switching. Luckily, I can play loud enough in my basement that I really don't have to worry about it. I have had the amp two years and I am still tweaking it. I don't think I'll be trading in anytime soon.
