    Has anyone received a new JP2C with the new Schumacher transformers?

    I am referring to the mention in this article: https://larkguitars.com/blogs/news/where-is-my-boogie I am currently several months in still on the waiting list for my JP2C, but it would be cool to see if anyone has received a recent build with the new trannies/transformers 8)

    Help! Is my Mark IIb Simul-class or not?

    That's the cleanest tranny I've ever seen (of that era) - doesn't have lacquer oozing out of it.

    2C++ Video

    Cool video, haven't seen that one. Funny how they both have a reverse "V" setting on the EQ - how times have changed lol :lol:

    2C++ Video

    I think Gillis still has that IIB Coliseum he used on the Ozzy album to this day, if you watch his most recent home videos. The old video from '86 shows his settings at 7:10 roughly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZYMJkKlvY8 Has his Lead Master volume at 8 :shock:

    MkIIB or MkIII for an old guy?

    Process is easy. I took it in and had a chat with Rich. He asked if I needed to talk to Mike about anything during the process - I mentioned I would be interesting in hearing about the mod. So at some point when Mike had the amp in front of him he called and went over what would be changed. Long...

    MkIIB or MkIII for an old guy?

    Hi, I struggled with the same amp choice back in February. I had a guy offering me his Red Stripe Mark III for a trade.... But I was also eyeing a IIB at the time. I already own a simul iic+, so the red stripe III seemed slightly redundant, and I opted for the IIB. Picked up a nice clean IIB and...

    Just received a 1981 IIB... Everything look original to the experts here?

    Picked it up from Mesa Boogie today. Mike B went over the amp, replaced all electrolytics, and some pots, something about replacing humbucking torroid type coil bands on the EQ, plus all the usual maintenance work. One thing thats new is the Jack that he put into the bottom side of the...

    Just received a 1981 IIB... Everything look original to the experts here?

    Thanks McBarry, yeah I couldn't figure out what the crackle was for the life of me. I decided to just drive over and drop it off at Mesa Boogie and let Mike B figure it out :mrgreen: So he went through and changed all the caps (some had the 'bubble' of a soon to be dead cap), rotated around...

    Just received a 1981 IIB... Everything look original to the experts here?

    I just got this a few days ago. There is an electrical crackle when I hit a low note... not sure if tube, or if it is because of the "warty" looking caps. I am guessing I need to drive over to Petaluma and get this thing worked over by Mesa Boogie. Its a RP-8C board. Does everything else look...

    Does my Mark IIC+ need to be serviced?

    Cool! Yeah, I have been so busy with moving and work right off the bat I havent had a chance to make a trip over to Petaluma yet. I am thinking of trying sometime next week, or hopefully the week after. Only thing I have done so far in Napa is go to Napa Smith brewery :mrgreen: Thanks for...

    Does my Mark IIC+ need to be serviced?

    Hmm, your post had me pondering. I looked into the O/T, and I think you are correct! Someone must have modded what was an original 60/100 Mark IIc+ to a Simul-Class version. These are what I have found - the trannies on the left are all from '83, but the O/T comes from '88:

    Does my Mark IIC+ need to be serviced?

    my assumption is yes. I got the amp 2 years ago. It's a 83 IIC+, serial 1259X, Simul-Rev. So far it has run great and sounds amazing. I decided to pull out the chassis this afternoon to see if it had ever been serviced. I am not too big into electronics, but it appears to me that it has not...
