Very Impressed with the Fillmore 50

It's the best cover band amp I've ever had. I love listening to my tone. Kinda weird.

Very Impressed with the Fillmore 50

Welcome to the light my son. I have the 25 head and a couple of 1x12's. It's perfect for Bar gigs. Mic it in for anything bigger. Set it up for edge of break up and crunch. Add a pedal for leads. I just love my tone, like all night long. My Fender just isn't reliable enough. My LSC is for BIG...

    Fillmore 50 combo vs head

The cabinets are the same size, so tone wise I don't see any difference. As for headroom, I figure no difference as well. It comes down to your preference of advantages/disadvantages. I have a Fillmore 25 head. At rehearsal I plug it into two, 1x12 compact cabs (non Mesa) set on each side of the...

    Boxy ?

Yep, same speaker. I'm going with the break in theory also. Scoop your mids a bit to compensate for Boxiness? Generally 1x12's will be boxier than other cabs. I have a 1x12 open back, no name cab with a C-90 that sounds good with my Fillmore. Really good! Play the snot out of that speaker.

Is that a C-90 Black shadow?

    Whats my Lonestar worth now?

You can get an idea from reverb.com listings. The combo's go for about grand. That rig should bring more. Maybe ask 2K? Post it here on the classifieds.

    Flux Drive Review

Wow, detailed review. I had a flux drive and now have a Flux five. I just wanted to say that his assessment was spot on. Through a breaking up amp it rocks! Through a clean amp it's decent. As a clean boost, well it wasn't designed for that.

Looking for a dual overdrive to do this.

I know this is a couple years old, but OP you post on the Boogie board looking for a dual drive  Dude, Flux five!

    Newest effect pedal Gold Mine

I want one! That said, I have a Flux five and that has more gain than a Flux drive. But the Gold mine has that 3 band eq plus that tight switch inside. Sounds awesome on the demo's. I will pick one up sooner or later. Mesa's pedals rock. 8)

    Fillmore 25 honeymoon year

Totally lovin my 25 head for a year + now. Dang, this amp just puts a smile on my face every time I play it with my band. I use a couple 1x12's spread both sides of the drum kit. Plenty of volume to spare indoors. Outdoors I mic up, but am able to hang with the stage volume with my 1x12's. I get...

    Fillmore Overdrive Pedal Suggestions

Totally agree! Should of been a 3 ch amp. The Clean, Drive & Hi voicing are better than say a Timmy, SD-1,& Suhr Riot. In my cover band I have chosen to go with clean and Drive to get my first 2 ch's. I then use a Flux five to get a couple more ch's. The 5 band EQ helps with putting some thunder...

Lonestar 2x12 tone in a lighter format?

I would definitely consider the Fillmore. I have the LSC 2x12 and the Fillmore 25 head. I use the F25 for practice and small gigs while I save the LSC for the big venues. The clean on the Fillmore is full and warm similar to the LSC. The drive is better IMO on the F25. The head room on the F25...

Getting that LSS sound at home from another amp?

If your looking for a light el84.... consider Transatlantic 15, Or, I would just put the LSC upstairs. You could switch to a head LSS. Sell the LSC and get something more portable.

Toning down reverb in Fillmore 50

I'm not a fan of my Fillmore's reverb either. But my LSC is the best spring verb I've ever heard in the warm setting.

    Flashback 2 in Loop

I was reading through my Boss DD-20 manual and I discovered that it has a -4db and -20db settings. If your Flashback has the same, that could be the problem. Read the manual.
