I have. Recto 2x12 horizontal cab with my Rectoverb 25, it sounds great. My 1x12 cab not so much. Everyone that I know uses the recto 2x12 horizontal cab with the mr or RV 25, loves it.

I made the plugs to use the fx loop as a master volume. That is way better.

Has anyone tried other EL84s in their amp? I have some TADs that I bought for spares to use in my Orange #4 head, and was wondering if I could drop them in? I'm basically wondering if these amps are cathode biased, that way there is no need to check the bias levels. I wish that I could get a...

Right now I have my 112 widebody 3/4 open back cab and my new 212 Recto cab to try with this. I'm going to see which sounds better with this amp to my ear, then order a matching cab like my Rectoverb 25. BTW, my custom Mark V:25 is at 8 weeks lead time right now, apparently Mesa didn't expect...

Thanks Elvis, I did notice that backing the bass way off, and turning up the treble killed it. This sounds really good now, I did replace a broken PI tube and V1 and V2, I put a NOS Ken-Rad GE long plate in V2, and a nice JJ ECC83S in V1, sounds good. My Mesa power tubes will be here tomorrow...

I had a similar issue on my Orange #4 head, I changed the tube for the fx loop, and it cleared up, it is a common problem on those amps, I suspect it may be the same here.

My dealer just received my Custom Rectoverb 25 combo and matching 2x12 Recto cab, as soon as it came in, I told them to order me a matching custom Mark V 25. I was considering a Mark V anyway. I have no problem with EL84s anymore, not since I got my Orange Jim Root #4 head, I was skeptical...

I also ordered mine, it will match my new Rectoverb 25 and 2x12 cab. :D Going to see what speakers it likes before getting another cab. I have a 1x12 with a Black Shadow and the 2x12 with V30s.
