Hi Kike I've not managed to get the Mark V to sound like the DSL50 - the tweed crunch with pedal is a bit looser and grainier in the mids and I cannot get the same power tube saturation for AC DC style crunch but saying that I prefer the sound of the Mark V in the band mix as the upper mids...

I've been gigging with my Mark V for 4 months now and was living on the Crunch mode on Channel 2 most of the time but wanted to try Mark 1 mode for solos although i was more than happy with using the solo boost on Crunch. I changed all my settings just before a gig last night and was blown away...

The H9 is a great pedal . I run it before the amp and also in the loop of my Mark V using the pre/post function and therefore foregoing any stereo effects ( that I don't need with 1 amp). I have had no issues at all with different levels of signal and leave my loop settings on the amp at unity.

I have the Xotic EP and have it last in chain before the amp. I have it on all the time with no boost and it seems to add a bit of sparkle and thickness to tone. I haven't tried it in loop so cannot compare unfortunately. Great pedal!

Cheers for the advice guys. I had band rehearsal last night and did some tweaking before and during based on your suggestions ( mainly increasing gain) . Unfortunately I had to go down to 10w mode which rounded off the attack a bit but hugely impressed with how it sat in mix and the tone. Loved...

Thanks for your comments Screamingdaisy. I have never used a ton of gain as I'm more used to getting lots of power tube distortion to add compression and fluidity on Marshall style amps. The problem I find with preamp gain is that the more gain the less it cuts through with the band (2 guitars)...
