    Mark V:35 Review and thoughts

I've had the V:35 since February of this year (?), I've used the CabClone in a few recordings but when recording I prefer my Two Notes Torpedo Reload by a wide margin. The vintage setting on the CabClone works best to my ears. If I were gigging with the amp and couldn't get the CabClone to...

    Cleans on the royal atlantic?

okay, this is a very quick unedited one time through comparison of the cleans as follows: Signal Chain: Mesa Boogie Mark V:35 head > Two Notes Torpedo Reload > Wall of Sound plugin using 1x12 with C90 speaker in Logic 1st play through 2 parts: Clean Mode and 2nd play through 2 parts: Fat Mode...

    Cleans on the royal atlantic?

I don't miss the Lonestar at all. Not once did I say to myself that I wish I still had it. I find the cleans that good on the Royal Atlantic, others may or may not agree. If I can find some time today or tomorrow I'll try to do a quick short recording of the clean channel on the Royal...

    Cleans on the royal atlantic?

I recently picked up a new Royal Atlantic head and can hopefully give some insight to your question although all of this stuff is subjective. Anyhow, my 2 current Mesa amps are the RA-100 head and the Mark V:35 head. My previous Mesa was a Lonestar Classic V1 head so here's my "opinion"; the...

    Mark V:35 Review and thoughts

I neglected to see your location before responding about the $200 price difference. Mesa's are very expensive in Europe. For what it's worth, it appears the Euro is breaking out vs. the US dollar but not sure if that helps :)

    Mark V:35 Review and thoughts

when I went for the V35 instead of the V25 I was set on the head version as well since I have a bunch of cabs so it came down to deciding if the $200 difference was worth 4 el84's vs 2 el84's, long reverb tank vs short reverb tank, solo functions on V35, larger transformer, more clean headroom...

    Mark V:35 Review and thoughts

i'll chime in here as a Mark V:35 (head) owner since February. i ended up trading in my Lonestar Classic (100/50 watt version) for the V35 head. initially it was between the V25 and big V head but then the V35 was released and my local shop had all 3 plus the V35 combo in at the same time so...

    Mark V:25 vs Mark V:35

The difference in reverb is the Mark V:35 has a long tank reverb and the Mark V:25 has a short tank. I opted for the 35, the differences are easily worth the $200 (to me).

    Lonestar Classic speaker swap confusion

I have the 1 x 12 and have been contemplating the same. Ran across this thread not sure if you've seen it: http://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=30771

LSC - Where did the gain on channel 2 go?

No EQ changes. Previously with the drive at 2 o'clock and the gain at 3 o'clock the "gain / distortion" was smoother, more saturated if you will. Now it's as if the amp is just past the edge of breakup, there's overdrive but not what it used to be if this makes sense. I'll put a call into...

LSC - Where did the gain on channel 2 go?

A couple of months ago I picked up an LSC (50/100w version), yesterday I noticed the gain in the 2nd channel is quite weak compared to what it was prior. I've checked the V1 and V2 tubes swapping with a new tube one at a time and nothing changed. In addition I cleaned all input jacks when I...
