OH NO! The ED is discontinued. Bye-bye …

Actually I DID in fact do the research and did buy a dedicated footswitch from Switch Doctor for that purpose. BOOM lol I was just sayin that they might as well have built it into the ED footswitch because I use that almost 100% of the time, and almost never use the reverb-defeat mode. Maybe...

Great boost to do two things?

I use the Luther Drive by Gearmanndude which is basically a true bypass ts808 clone to get higher gain boost for solos. It doesn't have that much control over EQ, but the ED is so bassy that the mid hump works out pretty well. I hear a lot of good things about Xotic pedals and/or OCD teamed up...

    Tube Talk

I still have the stock 6L6s (and love em) but am debating trying out the EL34s to see how much more chime I can get in the highs- I'm sure there wouldn't be a problem making up for any lost bass. :o

NAD - Finally Part of the ED Guild

Great review! WELCOME TO THE GUILD lol Gotta love the ED pick attack response. That presence knob makes the biggest difference in the bass, so usually the bass knob just kind of stays at noon for me- This amp finally made me start to bring both a strat and a les paul to every gig, because the...

My Opinion: Three things did in the Electra Dyne

I like the shared controls too- Electra Dyne is not that memorable of a name, but I don't really care about that- Number 2 on the list is what I think hit the hardest- Putting the ED out at the same time as the Mark V was the big mistake. Even if they waited a few months for bloggers to start...

OH NO! The ED is discontinued. Bye-bye …

Totally agree. We obviously really like the sound of the amp and don't want it to change even if that means giving up functional luxuries. I guess the admiration for Mesa instills in us the urge for them to do well, and maybe if they upgraded the ED to more of an all around gigging/practicing...

OH NO! The ED is discontinued. Bye-bye …

I'm new to this site but I've been following all of your posts for the last three years. Great stuff on here. I got my Electra Dyne on CL for $1200 in 2011. Its the 4th tube amp I've owned and for my purposes COMPLETELY SMASHES every amp I've set it against, including my other guitarist's ENGL...
