Well you do get the GEQ. Oh, wait a minute. You do get selectable wattages. Oh, wait. Seriously, I liked the clean, crunch and blues channel on the 5:50 I had but it’s hard to find a bad sound in the MarkV.

I’m going to state the obvious and say an older Mark IIC+ will nail Mark IIC+ tones. :) Seriously, any Mark series amp you mentioned will get you there. They all share the same DNA.

The FX8 has two relay outs on the back. Put a 1/4” cable out of each relay out to the Mark V channel 2 and 3 inputs on the back of the amp. FX8, 2 relay outs, 2 regular cables, 2 inputs on the back of your amp. It’s that simple.

Sounds like it’s time to replace that set of power tubes.

My MarkV35 doesn’t really open up until the master is at least 9:00, which is loud. I’m using an attenuator at home and I’m getting excellent low volume tone. I’m sure you could do the same with a JP2.

Yes I'm totally satisfied with both. For knocking the volume down they both work great but the PS gives you many more options.

I haven't tried the Rockcrusher but when I'm playing my Mark V35 at low volumes I play through an attenuator. I personally think my amp sounds better with the master volumes above 9:00. You might try changing out your preamp tubes one at a time with a known good tube.
