Clean on Express 5:50+ vs Mark V

Thanks for your reply - it did take a while for me to read it, sorry! I have pulled the trigger on the Mark V some time ago and I´m very pleased with it. The Cleans are very good (love the Fat-Mode!) - very close if not a little better compared to my Ex-Express+. What I love: A dedicated...

The next Mark - what would we need?

Correct. And this is exact what the Mark V does: It cuts the Delay immediately, when you disable the FX-Loop. Thats why i´d love to have the send switched off and not the return or the whole Loop.

The next Mark - what would we need?

My list would be: Midi Reverb behind the FX-Loop(!!!) CabClone FX-Switch should turn the send of or on, not the return EQ-LED should be BiColor just like the Expresses have (yellow=fader, orange=preset) Switchable Loudspeaker-Outs like in the Roadking (Clean=Speaker A / Lead=Speaker B), maybe...

    Mark V different versions?

The newer ones have a different Footswitch. Mine looks like this (S/N 013XXX): They came up in the time of the "little Mark Vs".

New Mark V: Loud Channel Switching Noise in 10 Watt Mode

As i said, I'm absolute happy with the new amp. The old one had a defect in the power supply (this is what i have been told by my dealer after having swapped the amp for a new one)...

New Mark V: Loud Channel Switching Noise in 10 Watt Mode

A little update on this: I managed to return my Amp to the Store where i bought it and get a new one in return. The new one has a slight popping noise in 10 Watt Mode but its MUCH quieter! Now i´m very happy that i swapped my 5:50+ for a Mark V... BTW, the new one has a different Footswitch...

New Mark V: Loud Channel Switching Noise in 10 Watt Mode

Got my amp back from "repair" yesterday. Still popping, the german Distributer says this is normal... Has anybody a Mark V which ist switching silently in 10 Watt Mode? I can´t imagine that a amp which is called to be a flagship is that loud - as i said, my 5:50+ was dead silent when...

New Mark V: Loud Channel Switching Noise in 10 Watt Mode

It should be, but it isn´t. In my video, all Channel have identical wattage settings. In 10 Watt Mode, it pops, although all three Channels are set to 10 Watt. With all Channels in 45 w or 90 w, switching is quiet.

New Mark V: Loud Channel Switching Noise in 10 Watt Mode

Hi. I just got a new Mark V these Days - i really like it! But, in 10 Watt Mode, the amp produces very loud noises when switching Channels. 45 Watt and 90 Watt are OK. I shot a little Video: http://www.fallensteller.net/Uploads/Musikkram/poppingMark.mp4 I called the Distributor an they said...

Clean on Express 5:50+ vs Mark V

I own a Express 5:50+ and like it a lot. First of all, I love the Clean on CH1. AND the Crunch (on CH1 also). Swapping my Cleans over to Blues is OK, but not as lovely as the Clean-Mode itself... Furthermore, I like to layer Notes with a looper and use FX a lot (Strymon Timeline and Mobius). To...

Cab clone blowing the main fuse on my Mark V - anyone else?

Thank you for your fast answer! OK, this is good advice. That did the trick for me! It was V3! Put a new one in there and my problem is solved. Thank you very much!!! :D Is there a technical Reason for this Tube to fail in my scenario or is this a remarkable coincidence? Sorry for that...

Cab clone blowing the main fuse on my Mark V - anyone else?

Hi! Instead of opening a new thread, i decided to use this one, since my problem is very close to the one mentioned here. I got a new CabClone, which i used today to play my Express 5:50+ through headphones. After a very short time (1 minute), the volume of the amp massively dropped down and...

    CabClone: 2nd Revision?

Came to talk to the local Mesa distributor: The black CabClone replaces the silver and black one. The new one handles 150w instead of 100w.

    5:50 Express + - Cab or Combo?

The 5:50 Combo is very heavy and it has no castors. This is why i purchased a head with a separate cab. Apart from moving things around easier, you can choose from a variety of cabs and speakers and easily change them. I leave one 2x12" in my rehearsal room and take the head home with me when...

Express 5:50 Plus or 5:25 Plus

As ifailedshapes said, as long as the power amp stays clean an the cab is the same, both amps should be very close in 5 watt mode (6L6 has slightly more bass to my ears). As soon as the power amp starts to clip, both amps will differ in sound because of different sonic characteristics of the tubes.

    CabClone: 2nd Revision?

Since there is no way of choosing which one i need (100 Watts or 150 Watts) as i could for Impedance (4 Ohm, 8 Ohm or 16 Ohm Version), i think the 150 Watt Model is not a Version of the original CabClone. To me it seems, as if the black CabClone is a new Revision. I´d be fine with mine, as...

    CabClone: 2nd Revision?

Hi. I purchased a CabClone today. My first Impression is positive, but i am a little confused: My device looks different to those on MESAs Website (mine is not all black) an mine is rated @ 100 Watts, while the CabClone on the Photos from the Website says 150 Watts. There are even two different...

    Loud "pop" switching between channels

Do you have engaged the EQ on both channels? Is it set on "Sliders" on one channel and "Preset" on the other?

    5:25 or 5:50 dilemma

The Express comes to life, when the Volume-Pot passes 9 o'clock. Switch it to lower wattage and increase the Volume. Dial in your most saturated tone to taste (remember "gain up-> bass down"). With the guitar plugged directly into the amp, you can clean this up a little with guitar volume for a...
