Mark I Lead Gain Pot Wiring

Hey guys, I'm yet another person whose replacing a gain pot on my friends Mark IV due to a broken shaft. I though I had gone one by one to be absolutely sure I'd got it right but I've got a dilemma. The amp works and sounds good but when you run the pot through it's full range you find it's...

Sell Mesa triple rec 2 channel, buy 3 channel dual rec?

I had a TR. Didn't like what it lost at high volumes. I moved on to a racktofier and really would like to get a Roadster. I would be a Reborn DR would fit the bill nicely for the effects loop consideration. Happy hunting. Kenny

    MKIV and Two Rock Owners

Ever played with a Mark V? I'm offloading my Mark IV for it because I'm just so impressed with the amp. Funny enough to me I usually us the Mark IV setting on the V. I can't figure out why but I just can't get the IV to make that sound. I may just not know enough about the IVs but lord I tried...

    Peavy 6505 or Single Recto?

I've got to side with the Mesa guys on this one. If you play high gain metal ONLY, then the 5150 would be just fine. I just don't really care for the sound and think it does lack quite a bit. From my experience, Mesas react very differently to different pre-tubes in the v1 space. The other spots...

    Framus Cobra Video

I've had 3 Cobras. Key word is 'had'. First one, bad tube stressed bad capacitor went POP. Second couldn't get a decent sound out of it. Third I figured it was my fault and bought it again. These things seriously take little time to figure out but when you've got that lined out and crank it WAY...

Mesa powertube color codes, are they gone?

Epic. I think they've still got the color thing going on but really they're just there to match across a quad I think. I know the 'reds' are supposed to clip sooner as opposed to the 'blues' but yeah, I just run whatever color matched quad I can get. Kenny

Matching 2X12 cabs to my MkV...

IMHO you should check out a Port City 212OS cab. I picked one up ans put some K100s in it and will never go back to a 4x12 again. Huge sound and really open. I think it's got the best of both open and closed backs. Very open, almost breathing. But I do play quite a bit of metal and this thing...

http://www.ibanezrules.com/tech/setup/index.htm This is a pretty fantastic guide to doing complete set ups. This goes double for Ibanez/anything with an FR type bridge. Kenny
