    OK...Finally Auditioned a Lonestar...

Welcome to the Lonestar club :) I've never had so many compliments on my tone. Every time it leaves the house at least two or the people just rave about it. I see people walking up between sets to stare at it. I've also heard other guitarists talk about how a certain amp responds to pick attack...

    Ditching Effects Loop

I use delay in front of the amp but I do use a patch cable in the loop for the boost function and tonal variation. Backing the loop send level off cleans the amp up a bit and raising it gives a little more gain. With the delay in the loop the effects send level needs to be set just so. I prefer...

    LSC or LSS: Opinions Welcome

I'm guessing for what Mesa will charge for an empty cab you could just buy a brand new LSS, get your warranty and be done with it. It would be worth 500 bucks to me not to have a sparkly amp :) I looked at both and went with the Special myself because I'm mainly a blues player and I like lower...

    LSS plus Tele equals... dang!!

I've been using my American Std Tele with the LSS for almost 2 years and have been loving it every step of the way. (No problems at all :) ) I did however pick up a Les Paul JR yesterday and all I can say is LSS plus LP JR equals... dang!!

    LSS discontinued?

One year, 30 gigs or so, many rehearsals and no problems. 1x12 does fine with my band volume-wise. These guys refuse to mike my amp and other than some coverage issues the 30 watt setting holds it's own.

it's a floor wax! a dessert topping! and an acoustic amp too

I let a buddy use my LSS for an outdoor gig at a local farmers market. He ran his acoustic guitar and an SM58 into a little mixer then into the clean channel and it sounded great. Didn't need the master past 10 oclock. Kept it on the 35w setting. So yes, the LSS can be used as a PA in a pinch...

Questions from a new LSS owner

Hey thanks! That's very encouraging as I won't have a cab for this weekend and it's not a huge outdoor venue. Just a downtown street fair in a fairly small town. I'll probably get one eventually though. Mostly because now that I've got the amp I need something else to obsess about :)

Questions from a new LSS owner

Thanks for the reply! I just realized this is in the wrong forum :( Maybe a mod could move it for me? I definately want to order my cab from Mesa. Trying to decide on speaker configuration. I was thinking 1x12 would be enough but maybe someone here could make an argument for 4x10 or 4x12. The...

Questions from a new LSS owner

Hiya folks. After years of GAS I've purchased a LSS 1x12 combo. Thanks for all for the the great information and opinions here. I've been lurking for awhile now. Shhh. :) I found one in mint condition in the stock cocoa bronco for $1300. It has 3 years left on the warranty. I'm in the first...

    LSS clips?

Hi, The decision making process goes on..... If you've read any of my earleir posts you know I'm looking at the LSS. Everyone talks about how good the clean channel is but no one so far has had any raves about the distortion and I've heard more than a few complaints about it. I know some of the...

    Pristine Clean Mesa?

I don't think you can ever get enough clean headroom for outdoor gigs with a 50w amp.

    Lonestar Special thru 4x12 cab

The LS and LSS seems great for blues and roots stuff and 410's should get you a great Tele country twang. All other boogies seem to rely on that modern overdrive sound which isn't very bluesy or vintage sounding.

    Im new here ....

Hi and Welcome. I guess we're all new here.I'm ordering a LSS this week. Had to have a custom finish. It'll be this in a 4x10 combo. http://www.mesaboogie.com/gallery/gallery.php?id=334 I don't know how i'll stand the wait. Post your impressions of your amp as you get used to it. I played the...

    Lonestar Special 1x12, 2x12 or 4x10?

I thought about that but this thing keeps getting more expensive as I look at my options. The 410 combo is 1750. The finish i decided on is going to be a 150 vinyl change and 150 hardwood front panel change. Doing the seperate cab will bring the grand total to 2350. Basically another $300. It's...

    Lonestar Special 1x12, 2x12 or 4x10?

**** you figured out my true identity! I'll just say the rumors of my death have been pretty accurate. I'm definatley going with the special. It's down to 212 or 410. Just can't make up my mind. The feedback here is helping and I'm leaning 410 but just want to be sure before I plunk down 2...
