hello..:) just wondering what 6l6 everybodies using in the mk4 iv been using JJ that im pleased with , just wondering on different alternatives, and also the small one you change with them..phase inverter..?

thanks Matt yes ill be keeping the mk4 as well..i couldnt bring myself to get rid of that one ...its a great amp just my style has changed a bit, were doing a bit more bluesy type of thing..i havnt tried a Lone star special its going to be a trade ..just hoping its gonna be loud enuff for the...

well...not a verses really cos im keeping the mk4...but what is the difference in sound and is it worth having both..my style is sort of changing and im going for more a blues thing...can the mk4 do what the lonestar does...and same the other way...just wondering iff its loud enuff for a band...

just tried the mk4 with the 6v6s in ...really like the sound , just been low vol need to try it louder tommorrow it says in the manual you use the 8ohm speaker in the 4 ohm output... but i have an ext. cab i would like to use as well ..so thats the combo speaker at 4 ohms and the cab at 4 ohms...

cool youll be closeup as well..:) im going in may he comes to the UK ...cant wait , it was a xmas present from my wife ...she must have got sick of me going on and on about him..lol he has one of the nicest guitar sounds iv heard..its probably got a lot to do with his playing as well though...

yeah they are both great players ..my favourites as well...going to see Bonamassa in may ,cant wait.. :D

thanks for the replies..:) its one of them things that seems really easy to do on a fender but hard on a boogie...i actually got some of the 6v6s but never got round to putting them in...dont know why, i think its maybe the tweed sound made the amp sound thinner..and i think im right in saying...

im trying to get a good blues sound out of the amp...iv used one for years but mainly rock type sounds ,things have changed and im looking for more of a blues thing ...not clean though been using a hot rod deluxe that gets a good sound but i need the switching options as well....the boogie dosnt...

im looking for a nice blues sound out of the Mk4...like a overdriven fender type of thing...i know just ge a fender then..:) i want the options of the three channells ..more of a vintage type of sound opposed to rock, like a fatter sound...iv got the MK4 with the ev and a 2x12 with 2 black...

thanks dodger916...will check that out now ...the problem ive had with some fx units is when engaged is the drop in volume with the mk4 ..but there seem to be a lot of people using the g major so that cant be a problem...with them...:)

was wondering iff anybody could reccomend a good fx unit to use with the mk4 boogie in the fx loop....just really need rev,delay and chorus..it seems some that ive used have a drop in volume when switched in.. thanks :)

just wondering iff any body else has this problem...im just using the loop in the mk4 for a delay and when its brought in theres a drop in volume ....im using a korg ax fx unit and all the volumes are up on the unit...it has a high and low switch and its a bit louder on low ....thanks paul
