Hello. I have messed a little too much with my mesa preamp tubes that came stock with my f-30. So, I was wondering if it is possible to see any physical difference between the input tube (spax 12ax7) and the other tubes? B.r. Andershoeg

Get a mesa boogie thiele 1x12". Fits under the combo. Got that setup myself. Loves it :-)

First; DON'T close the back!! It needs to get rid of the heat from the tubes!! So don't do that! I've got the F30 combo as well. Love it. However, I know what you mean by having a "boxy" sound by it self. It definitely changes when connecting it to a larger/one more cab. I use mine with a Mesa...

I use JJ EL84's in my F30 combo. Definately an improvement to the stock mesa ones! Jj's or tungsols in the preamp, allthough the tungsols is a llitlle gain heavy. The jj's is more controllable. B. R. andershoeg
