I had a M-2000, sounded great but to many switch and knob failures. I ended up going back to my 400+ after a few years . Then I went with the M-9.

Oh man....I suspect that the issue is on the front of the amp. I you look at the ampeg logo you will see the problem.

I noticed the other day that the M9 Carbine pic on Mesa's site showed the rear without a direct out level knob. So I took a pic of mine and poorly combined the pics to show that the M9 does indeed have a D.I Level knob. the top is mesa's pic the bottom one is mine.

I've used my ACE head through a friends recto 4x12 (top cab) and the sound just killed everything else I have tried it with. I've been keeping my eyes open for a used one at a good price , but it looks like I'll just have to break down and buy a new one.

Short story. I played a show last Sat. M9 through 2 2x12's (SWR 12 packs). My trusty Stingray 4 (HH) and Bongo 6 (HH) in habd (although not both at the same time...yet :D ) Opened with "No Remorse"......**** I love that amp, it kills my M2000.
