what cab to go with DC-5

I use a closed back 1-12 cabinet with my DC-5 combo. Right now it has a G12H30 (actually the Hellatone version) in it and I quite like it. I think that it complements the C90 very well.

    DC-5 Head

There's a guy named John Phillips over on "The Gear Page" forum whos a very good amp tech and really knows the DC-5 well. I don't know if he visits here but if you post your question in the amp technical section on TGP, I can guarantee you'll get some solid advice.

    resonating dc5 and distorted reverb

I had a problem that sounds similar to yours on my DC-5. It turned out to be a rattling power tube and a couple of the preamps were getting microphonic too. Luckily I had some spares to swap around and locate the culprits.

How do you guys use your EQ?

Just curious. I've had a DC-5 for about six months and I thought that I'd be using the EQ feature a lot. Now that I've got a handle on the rest of the amp I'd really start to take advantage of this feature and wonder how the rest of you utilize it. So....who uses it? For what purposes? What...

Xotic BB Preamp or Fulltone OCD w/your Mesa

Currently, I'm using a BB, as well as modified TS9, BD2 and OD3s. The BB is a great pedal and works very well with my DC-5. To my ear, the DC-5 has a lot of inherent midrange so I tend to use a pedal that doesn't have too much of a pronounced hump in that area.

    DC-5 vs F-50

Micah, Not only gave the DC-5 a try but gave it a new home too. I have a bit of a love/hate thing going on with dialing it in but I think that the DC's offers a lot more flexibility over the F-series with the assignable EQ and individual presence controls. If it had the solo feature it would...

    DC owners

I bought a 97' DC-5 combo about a month ago. It's in "as new" condition. It's taking a bit of time to get used to but I'm lovin' it!

What do you stick in front of your MESA

    Using a DC-5; Bad Horsie, TS-9, BB preamp, OD-3, & TU-2. In the loop: Triboost, DD-3, DM-3, CE-2. Less than I have .... more than I need.

    DC-5 question.

The older version has a rotary knob on the back for assigning the EQ, the newer version has a toggle switch.

    Anyone gone the B.Y.O.C route?

I recently built a triboost. It was a fairly enjoyable experience and the pedal works quite well. I spent more time on finishing the box than putting it together. I did the anodized aluminum finish (blue) and made up waterslide decals. It turned out to look quite professional and I intend on...

    DC-5 vs F-50

Hi guys, First post ... I've never owned a Boogie but am close to pulling the trigger on an F-50 combo. My dilema is that I was just offered a (later version) DC-5 for what seems to be a really good price. Which way to go?
