    Clean Channel Preamp Tube

Hi all! After too long of a hiatus, I was recently able to bust out my Dual Rec 100 watt Solo Head (non multi-watt) and it still sounds as beautiful as I remember. After playing for a bit, the clean channel began to experience volume swells and so I believe a preamp tube is the culprit. The...

A/B/Y Pedals!!! With DR and JCM800

Well, the other guitarist in my band ended up moving unexpectedly and so he sold me his 1988 JCM800 (100w lead), 4x12 cab, and pedals for a KILLER deal. So, I'm now looking to pick up an A/B/Y pedal in order to run my Dual Rec and JCM800 simultaneously. I've been doing some research on pedals...

    I just became a man

I just picked up a used Traditional Recto 4x12...my first 4x12 ever :D I used to run my DR through an Orange PPC112 (1 x 12) and I feel like my balls have officially dropped. Still working out the eq'ing, but it just sounds sooo much BIGGER and smoother!! All in very great ways :)

Different Mesa 2x12's (Compact vs Horizontal)

So, I was at band practice today and quickly realized that, based on the burning smell coming from my 60w Orange PPC112, that I was pushing it waaaayy too hard with my 3-Channel Dual Rec...and the master volume was only at 10 o'clock. I'm taking this as my cue that it's finally time to upgrade...

    What part is this?

Okay, so I have multiple devices (computer + USB interface) that I want to connect so that they share the same set of 2.1 speakers. Here's a simple little diagram: Computer -------- \ -- Speakers...

What are the necessities of gigging gear?

Alrighty. I'm looking to get back into gigging and playing shows now that I have the time to do so. However, I've never used any tube amp, let alone my Dual Rec, to play a show. Based on the gear that I have, what are your recommendations on what I should look into purchasing next? Oh, and...

What does "MESA 3REC E" mean?

Anyone know what this means? I took out my chassis in the hopes to date my 3 channel Dual Rec, and found this stamped onto one of the boards. My understanding was that they didn't have different revisions of the 3-channel recs...so what does the 'E' stand for? Mesa estimates that my DR was...

    Cleaning the mighty DR

I've done some searching but can't find much on the subject of what to use to actually clean a Dual Rectifier...interior, exterior, and the faceplate. The manual only states to not use benzene or paint thinners, but to use a soft cloth for the exterior. I bought my head used a little while ago...

Do I need new tubes? Not glowing in DR

Hey Guys, So I recently (about 2 months ago) purchased a used 3-channel Dual Rectifier...and it's my first tube amp. I was extremely careful when I purchased the amp (made the store literally take everything apart to make sure it was in excellent condition). However, I just realized that...

    Weber attenuators?

Hey Guys, So I'm thinking about adding an attenuator to accompany my 3 channel Dual Rectifier. At the moment, I'm leaning towards the 100w Weber MASS Lite since there appear to be a lot of positive reviews and doesn't seem to suck out much tone; plus the fact that it doesn't break the bank...

To rectifier cab, or not to rectifier cab...

Hey all! So after many years of saving, I just purchased my dream amp...a Dual Rec! However, my current dilemma is whether I should continue to use my Orange 1x12 PPC112 (with a V30), or go for a Rectifier 1x12 cab with a V30 in it. I've heard that Orange's tend to be a little 'tighter' than...
