    NEW MESA STOMP BOXES!

If I can find an opportunity to test these pedals, I would be happy to provide an in-depth review for each of them.

    Line6 pod HD pro-any good?

Is either a "yes" or a "no" going to be a particularly useful answer to you?

    Just finished my new pedal!

Over the last week, I finished up my new Marshall-in-a-box pedal. I play through a Mesa Triple Rectifier half-stack, but wanted to make something that would let me get a classic Marshall stack tone for certain songs. I used to own both a JCM-800 and a Silver Jubilee from Marshall, so I knew...

    Catalinbread Royal Albert Hall pedal

As some of you may remember, I wrote a pretty detailed piece a few years ago in the Rigs & Tones forum where I described how to combine the Clean Pushed channel 1 of the Mesa Triple Rectifier with EQ's and overdrives to get some really nice open-voiced Marshally sounds. I did the same thing...

    Catalinbread Royal Albert Hall pedal

Okay, I've had a little time to play around with the pedal and it's time for some first impressions. To start with, I set the master to unity gain, the tone controls at noon, and the gain all the way up. I already knew the RAH wasn't a high-gain monster, so I wanted to see right off the bat...

    Od fans check this out

Nice! He kinda reminds me of me. :P I hope he succeeds. There are a lot of pedal makers out there but innovation is still rare enough to be noticed.

    Catalinbread Royal Albert Hall pedal

This evening I ordered a Royal Albert Hall pedal, aka the RAH, from Catalinbread. It'll ship UPS Ground so it may be a bit before it gets here, but I wanted to let everyone know that I plan to provide a review of the pedal once I've had a chance to put it through its paces. I had an issue with...

Mesa Amp + Pedal for Marshall Tone

For the Marshall-on-a-Mesa thing, I definitely use Spongy/Tube Rectification. I'm probably the only one who's really listening for it, but that's always the case when you're a tweaker. SonicProvocateur, thanks for the heads up on the new pedal. Very tasty.

Mesa Amp + Pedal for Marshall Tone

Thank ye kindly, Blaklynx. The open voicing of the Clean Pushed channel is kind of a sleeper benefit of the Rectos that most users probably aren't really aware of. Yeah, it's not exactly the same as a Marshall, but it does the job just fine if you know how to tweak it.

    Noise Gate Questions

Monsta-Tone, I assume you have the OD or boost (I wouldn't recommend an outright distortion pedal in front of a tube amp) up front of the amp's preamp and the delay in the effects loop where it will provide the delayed echoes to the combined boost/preamp/poweramp signal. There are two types of...

Clone pedals which are cost effective and sounds good!

+1 Also, like I said, there are hundreds of clones of dozens of pedals. And that's in every category of pedal. How in the world would we know what would sound good to you, especially if you haven't given us any idea of what you're after? As yet, we don't even know what kind of pedal you're...

ZVex Fuzz Factory (Vexter series) Review

Very cool review, Jackie, and fun to read. Keep it up. I'm not a fan of fuzzes in general, and I'm also especially reticent to plop down boutique prices for something that even when it works right it kinda sounds like a toy and is essentially a one-song pony for my musical choices...

Which Fulltone pedal? OCD or Octafuzz

Agreed that you should look at other makers as well. Also, even with the two you mentioned, they're apples and oranges. One is a dedicated overdrive and the other is essentially an octaver distortion. They're both fine, but the real question here ought to be what kind of sound are you wanting...

    Hi Everybody!

Funny how it works sometimes. Yeah, there are things the Recto doesn't do as well as the Mark, or a Lonestar, or a Marshall....but with the right combination of boost, EQ, overdrive, etc., I can get it to sound like just about anything I need it to. I think a large part of the problem people...

    Hi Everybody!

Glad to have helped! Very cool attitude, btw. I think looking at it like that helps you get "inside the tone" with any amp and pull out more of what it does best.

    Hi Everybody!

Welcome back, Geiri! I'm still plugging away on my Triple Recto, but I'm just now starting to get back into doing custom pedal work again.

    Is This Safe?

Slaving the F30 will get you the power amp section of that amp only. If you're wanting the tone of both amps, the simplest option is an A/B/Y box. One input, two outputs....one to each amp.

Programmable Graphic EQ for Guitar Rig

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I'm really glad to help. I'm currently talking to a couple of publishers about the idea of putting together a book on all this kind of stuff. The idea would be to have it all together in one place for reference. I'll let the forum know if something develops.

    Dallas Rangemaster-style Treble Boosters

Don, I can't speak to your particular unit since you built it yourself and I have no idea how it's set. That's too bad it gives a sound you don't like. Properly set up, treble boosters can be very useful specifically with Rectifier series amps, and especially for lead playing, because they...
