    6ca7 Tubes

I did a quick search and it looks like Smith meant there isn't a difference between tubes of the same type. Sp basically most EL34s will sound a lot lot other EL34s, despite manufacture and bias. Is that right? I'm thinking about throwing some 6CA7s into my Stiletto Ace.

2-Amp Setup into a Road King Cab, Thoughts or Opinions?

I don't know much about the inside workings of amps, I just like to play Mesas. But what I had to do when using my two heads is use one of the heads uses a simple 3 Prong to 2 prong grounding converter. At first I used an Ernie Ball Stereo volume pedal, I got lots of noise until I started using...

2-Amp Setup into a Road King Cab, Thoughts or Opinions?

I'll be sure to try them with each set of speakers. Maybe even swap speakers from the open side to the closed side. Time to experiment.

2-Amp Setup into a Road King Cab, Thoughts or Opinions?

So I recently picked up a used Road King 4x12 cab to use with my Lone Star Classic and Stiletto Ace. (I had previously been using a Rectifier 4x12 cab.) I had to do some minor adjustments though, but it took all of 2 minutes. I unscrewed the input jack plate and snipped some wires connecting the...

    Road King Cab HELP!

While I can't offer any advice on your question I was hoping you could give me some advice? I just got an RK cab and I plan to run two different heads through it, a Lone Star and a Stiletto, and not a single Road Kind head. From the sound of your post you're doing the same, but with different...

    EQ for the Stiletto

Just out of curiosity. What settings and type of guitars are you using? Amp settings and EQ pedal settings? Like what frequencies are you raising or lowering on the ep pedal in addition to your amp settings. :)

In case you missed it, I'm located in Missoula, MT if you're nearby and want to give the amp a test drive.

    Cool Transcribing and Tab Software

I wish I had time and the ambition to be a computer whiz. I'm sure there is a lot out the to be had for those who take the time to find it. Maybe I should check to see if I my current Audacity needs an upgrade. It's not as easy for me as you say it is for you, or I've been doing things wrong...

2-Amp Setup into a Road King Cab, Thoughts or Opinions?

I think I'll give Mesa a call and ask them about the RK cab. I thought it wouldn't be a problem but it looks like I should just check with them and report back with what they tell me. I have a Recto 4x12 that I had been thinking about trying to split for two amps, two on the left for one amp...

Lonestar Classic clean tone at loud band volumes

I played with a heavy handed drummer and the clean in the 100 watt setting was very clear. I don't even need to turn it up all the way. If I want a little dirt I just kick in a od pedal for a hint of od. I also play channel 2 on either 50 watts or 10 watts with a lot of gain and the overdrive...

Dual Caliber or Nomad series?? which would be better for me

Oh and one more thing, I had a DC-3 Combo and just sold it a few months ago. It was a cool little amp but the clean wasn't loud enough for me to play with my drummer, he liked to hit hard.

Dual Caliber or Nomad series?? which would be better for me

I have a Nomad 100 head that I'm thinking of getting rid of if you might be interested? I just got a Lone Star and don't really use my Nomad anymore.

Garage Band and Macbook Pro RULES

Garage Band does RULE! I do some recording but mostly I use it to practice through. I live in a small house and being able to crank my amps isn't very easy, especially during my baby's nap time. I just throw on some headphones and pick an appropriate amp sim. And the amp sims are close enough...

2-Amp Setup into a Road King Cab, Thoughts or Opinions?

So I have two amp heads that I started using and to help with portability and to save space, I've been thinking about switching to one cab for both. In particular a Road Kind 2x12 or a Road King 4x12. I was thinking about using my Lone Star on the open-back side and my Stiletto on the...

    Cool Transcribing and Tab Software

I don't have Linux and I don't think I want to make a switch from my current OS, but from what I hear it's a nice OS. I'm very familiar with Audacity, I use it for journalism sound editing. But Transcribe! is easier and quicker to use. In Audacity you have to have to go through a few menus to...

    Cool Transcribing and Tab Software

I found some cool software a few months ago that I wished was around when I was a kid. One free and one not but worth the price. Free software for viewing Power Tab and Guitar Pro tabs: TuxGuitar http://tuxguitar.herac.com.ar/ and Not free but worth the price if you want to figure things out by...
