    March 9th in McMinnville, OR

Hey y'all, It's been a while but I wanted to swing by and say that my band, Slight of Hand, is playing at the Mac Club in McMinnville Oregon on March 9th. Not sure if any of you guys are in the area, but it's a free show at a great bar and if you're around it would be awesome to see you there...

    New Mark III Owner!

Just discovered why the Rev/EQ Footswitch doesn't work right: it's a RHYTHM/EQ footswitch. Here's some shots of the amp, notice the mottled red and black face on the head. It looks to me like someone had taken the front off and/or it was painted or something. Definitely want to fix that up...

    New Mark III Owner!

Interesting, I took a look at the M/B store and the footswitch is completely different. I'm considering ordering a Switchdoctor pedal when I get paid next... Does anyone know if he does them in colors different from the picture? I'd like to get black instead of white if possible...

Wireless with Mesa. Good? Bad? ...Ugly?

If my understanding of Mogami cables is correct, your signal will be so clean it will be as if there are no wires anywhere in your rig! 8) I am hoping to get a live-in head case with rackmount spaces (to make life easy and sexy simultaneously) and putting a Line 6 G90 in the upper area of the...

    Post removed.

I don't play metal, but I would definitely say most of our songs are hard rock. We play alt-rock-ish tunes and we have a few extra heavy ones that we love to play (ESPECIALLY when the crappy local metal bands put us first because we're "not very heavy," and then we play, and they have hilarious...

    New Mark III Owner!

I see. As far as I can tell, the Rhythm/Lead footswitch works just fine, and I've read the manual and figured out where all the foot switches need to be plugged in. I'll give the rev/EQ footswitch a look tomorrow, but I think the cable was a TRS captive cable, stuck permanently into the...

    New Mark III Owner!

That is good to know about the reverb! I stopped by GC today (a friend of mine works there) to show off my amp and gave it a whirl for about an hour and a half. Figured out some nice sounds with a couple different guitars. I seriously can't wait to jam with the guys when I get a chance, it's...

    New Mark III Owner!

Oops, yeah that's what I meant, herp derp :P Should have clarified! I was thinking along the lines of a Voodoo Lab GCX, but was wondering if it would be possible to use two of the GCX loops jumpered into a stereo cable and run into the Rev/EQ input. On further thought, I just saw another...

    New Mark III Owner!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I just recently purchased a Mark III Green Stripe (with Graphic EQ) from a local music shop. The amp came with an old Metal Grate style 4x12 slant cab and a case for the head. A bit of the amp's history includes the original owner being Lenny Kravitz. Anyways, with the...

    Poor Gibson

I have an old '77 or '78 RD Custom. Someone did me a favor before I became the owner and removed the active electronics but also routed a sport for a third humbucker in the middle. The craftsmanship on the guitar is fantastic compared to the new RDs. I had a chance to play one a couple days ago...

    tube getters

The getter is made of Barium which is highly reactive to oxygen. Dom's got it, it's used to absorb any trace amounts of oxygen left in the tube post vacuum sealing. If the tube seal fails (cracks, etc.) or the tube breaks, the silver barium getter will turn white due to the reaction forming...

    New to Mesa....please help

Definitely download the manual. Also I have found that starting everything off at noon (everyone says this at some point.) is a great way to begin. Start it at noon and make minor adjustments from there. You can do the additive or subtractive methods. Starting everything below where you think it...

How many of you guys sing and play????

It was difficult for me for me for the first couple months playing guitar but I learned by working on foo fighters covers. Playing covers gave me the sense of how/where to play what parts along with vocals. We just lost our lead guitarist and are back to a three-piece so now I play both rhythm...

Electra Dyne without the tap dancing ...

Rocktron patchmate loop 8 would work especially well with their midimate. You could use two of the loops linked via a TRS cable to control the amp modes and have your effects in other loops that were set to be active when a specific midi preset was called up.

Electra Dyne without the tap dancing ...

What are you really trying to do? Change the channel with the Octaswitch? Change the channel with the foot pedal and use different effects with the Octaswitch? Or are you just aiming to control the amp as well as some effects pedals with a single foot controller?

    Mesa Tubes

Spammer dug up a dead thread... Isn't using non-Mesa tubes going against what the amp was technically designed for? I do empathize with you about it being an odd policy but if they designed it specifically to use tubes that their systems deem "The Best Tubes" and you go and use something...

Big Block 750 - stuttering noise issue

Have the power tubes been changed? try tapping lightly on each powertube with the eraser side of a pencil and see if that makes more crackling/feedback. Maybe dirty tube terminals? Spray contact cleaner on the tube pins and work them around (GENTLY) in their sockets. That's all I got... Best of...

    Royal Atlantic's in GC?

Like the time I went into GC and was looking at the roadster and the nearest sales rep advised me to try the Mark V, with the eq sliders from left to right like this: max, min, min, min, max. I said aloud, "Yep, sounds EXACTLY like something I would never listen to." I tried a Royal 100 head at...

Speaker Impedence when using power scaling switches

Just a thought: Does the road king change impedance when you go from 2 power tubes to 6 on the next channel?
