i think i'll try going from my Alesis 3630 compressor on the way into the preamp and also trying boosting one of the rhythm channels with an overdrive pedal. i was advised that using a rhythm channel as a lead channel may work..Ive also heard (but havent tried) that keeping the gain super low...
