Best option to replace MarkI with a 2 channel amp?

Hi guys and Boogie lovers, i need some guidance. I have a Mark I reissue that I love for lead sound. The issue is I have to lug 2 amps everywhere, one fender Blues reissue for playing chords and clean , and the boogie for playing lead and solos. No the mesa foot switch is not an option since...

How can you use Mark I for both lead and cleaner rhythm?

Yes, that is true for that particular last song he played on that album, which was with Clapton , and where Carlos uses (very rarely does he do this) a strat with a twin. He told his tech, that in order to get the sustain he wanted out of the start, he would have to play so loud, that he...

How can you use Mark I for both lead and cleaner rhythm?

Thank you very much for all the reply. I will try both the TS9, with Channel 2 (with volume 2 at 10 and Volume 1 at 7), or channel 1 but with both volumes at 5. The BB is something I have never heard off. I will read on it and perhaps try it. Thanks DC

How can you use Mark I for both lead and cleaner rhythm?

Hi there, I have a dilemna, I am trying to solve. The MArk I is not a switchable amp (yes you can use an A/B switch but does not work very well) I want to get the lead tone from Input one (ehich is wired in series), for maximum sustain but also have to play a lot of rythm, and since the kind...

    Mark I reissue clip

Yes, I am sorry. I knew you guys play different styles. I love metal two. I play mostly African/Spanish/ethnic stuff. But I figured we are all a boogie family regardless, right. Thanks and keep shreding ! :D

This is a draft song I made with my MArk I reissue. The firt guitar part is with a PRS and the second with an epiphone LP standard. The little girl is my 3 year old daughter that was hanging around when I was recording this :D I used Protools. Yes, I need vocals on it I think...

David Gilmour using Mark series amp in the past

David Gilmour is so expressive and says a lot by using the right notes (i.e. his phrasing and the way he digs in the note) Not to criticize Petrucci and Satriani, but these guys totally remind me of guys that talk too much and too fast... without really saying much.... and with words that don't...

Studio 22, a good baby MarkI clone?

Thank you RR for the tips about the preamp tubes. One thing I did with the MarkI is to lower V1 and V2 volume to , let say 5, turn the master up, but I loose too much sustain that way unfortunately. I like to set Volume 1 and volume 2 at 7, guitar knob at about 7.5 and play that way.

Studio 22, a good baby MarkI clone?

Thanks Boogee. I am not sure if it is my ears, but seems that a MarkI needs to be dialed up to sound good. I wonder if the other Mark family have the same issues when playing at low volume. (Don't get me wrong, it is still a very good amp but too buzzy for my taste at low volume)

Studio 22, a good baby MarkI clone?

Hi guys, I am in a market for a small amp (no mor than 30W), that would sound similar to Mark I, which I own today. (I have a reissue) My problem is that this suckr needs to be turned up over 3 to sound really good, other it is kind of thin and buzzy. Any suuggestion to gte that fat glassy...

Enigma, I am a bit curious as to what make the channel 2 of the Mark I the original boogi sound? To me it i the opposite and also stated in the manual. The original boogie "voice" is the super supped up Channel 1. Am i missing something? Please elaborate... Thanks And yes, i own a Mark I...

Best Equalizer pedal for Mark I reissue

Hello all boogie brothers and sisters, I have a Mark I reissue that I love. I play a lot of fusion/acid jazz/blues and Afro/spanish stuff. I like to clean up my distortion. My tone is very middy, so mid are almost full throttle. But that dirty up my lead, which I would like to have warm, very...

My version of an Old Santana Classic "Song of the Wind&

****!!! Shaggy, that was very very impressive! Simply beautiful! Now for the questions: I am like you, looking for that dumble sound, with very sweet creamy distortion without the fuzz... I have a Mark I reissue and I am thinking of buying an equalizer. Wopuld that help clean up the fuzz? I...

Anyone using atenuator(hotplate,PB100,weber mass) on MKIV

Hi Jam, I have a Mark I R. and bought a Weber mass 100 Watt. I tried the hot plate, but the Weber is much better at keeping your sound the same. It works great for me. Like another poster said the less you attenuate, the better, so find the right spot. I think that if you attenutate too much...

MarkI (and others...) Power amp vs Pre amp distortion Tone?

Thanks for the reply. I found that the Mark I (and really Boogies in general) have the best/sweetest preamp distortion that of any other amps I have ever tried. I have used a power attenuator and turned up all the volume to 7. You could play but for some reason it doesn't sustain as well and is...

MarkI (and others...) Power amp vs Pre amp distortion Tone?

For you distortion techies, A lot had been said and argued about pre amp distortion doesn't sound as good as power amp distortion. Obviously, with the master volume you can turn preamp volume way and up and keep master to around 1.5/ 2 for small venue, needing a nice creamy distorted sound...
