I have a 2:90 and Recto Pre in my rack. No hum when switching between modes on 2:90. You probably have a problem in the circuit, not in the cable you use for switching.
To connect all my rack gear I'm using Canare cables with Neutrik jacks. All cables are TRS (balanced) except for the cable used...
The clean sound that you recorded sounds very good. It would be interested to hear some riffs on the crunch channel.
I get a better result by using bright/live voicing - clean sound is much brighter as well as the crunch though the signal is taken from rec outs and only cab impulses are added.
I recently bought recto pre and tried to run it through 2:90 and a 4x12 cab - sounds awesome. Super cleans and punchy overdrive. I really enjoy this setup. If you really can get a 2:90 for $450-500, I would say buy it and give it a try.
Well, as a manufacturer states, they tried to emulate a sound of a preamp through a power amp and a mic'ed 4x12 cabinet. That's why one will expect that nothing else is needed and you just take the signal from the rec outs to a mixing console or a sound card and record.
Thanks for the sample...
Thanks. Please, share what you have. It will be interested to listen to the samples. I have also acheived some better results after more tweaking. Found good clean settings. But for crunch I still prefer to use cab impluses - this way everything sounds tighter.
This weekend I tried running the...
Thanks a lot for your comment.
I was experimenting more today and was able to get a pretty good crunch sound without using Sonic Maximizer. I tried recording it and it sounds quite good to me. But I am still using impulses because without them the sound is not good at all.
Clean sound - no...
Hi,
I recently bought Mesa Rectifier Recording Preamp and trying to get a good sound out of it. I take signal from the Rec Output into my M-Audio fast track.
The problems are:
1. The clean channel is not really clean - lacks sparkle and clarity and breaks up easily even on very low gain and...
