    I have tried a bunch of different 6L6s in my LSC. I did the adjustable bias mod and they all sound substantially better. I run it up to 70% and the amp comes alive. Try it out ....you can always reverse it. There is plenty of detail and experience on this forum.

    LSC: Adj bias, 6V6, EL84, YJ ....

    Did the adj bias mod and love it ....now I want to explore 6V6, EL84 and YJ possibilities. Have read older posts on these topics and would appreciate any updated experiences/recommendations. Thanks!

    Lonestar Classic - Channel 1 Crackling

    At the gig last night, more than usual crackling started right before the second set. I flipped the power off and then right back on (forgot to go to standby first) and immediately no more crackling .... for the rest of the evening.

    Yes, occasional crackling on channel 1 only. When this occurs, channel 2 works as normal. Have swapped out V1, removed the foot switch from the circuit, checked capacitors, no visually apparent cold soldier joints. Has only occurred after the amp has been in use for more than 30 minutes or so...
