    Pedal Puzzle...

Ok guys, this is just to see how we all think in terms of pedal placement. I'll give you my gear, and you place it as you think it sounds better. I actually like the way I have it wired right now, just wondering how YOU would do it. Amp: Mesa Boogie Mark V (with effects loop on) Pedals (in...

Props to Mesa Boogie - The transatlantic TA-15 incident

I'm not gonna start talking about Steve's Music. They're ok if you go in and buy in store, and they open the box in front of you...still...Let's just say I'm not very fond of them. I must say though, that I had an issue with a bass, online order, and I got a full refund. Maybe the fact that I...

Props to Mesa Boogie - The transatlantic TA-15 incident

I started a topic the other day about a problem I had with my newly acquired Transatlantic TA-15 head. Basically what happened is that after flipping the standby switch to ON, a very loud POP and smoke with burning odor, occured. After further investigation, there was a blown power tube, that...

Transatlantic TA-15 head fried...out of the box

I just got off the phone with Mesa Boogie...They're going to send me a set of tubes to try it out. If that doesn't work, i already have the return label to ship it back...so, win-win situation.

Transatlantic TA-15 head fried...out of the box

Hello there, I'm a proud owner of a Mesa Boogie Mark V head, and I decided to acquire one of their little brothers, the Transatlantic TA-15 head. As soon as I got home, and after following all best-practice procedures with a tube amp, there seems to be a problem with the head. When I turned...

Al Di Meola - Mesa Boogie?

Talk about revisiting an old thread, but... I read that he's using the Mark V lately. Any tips on how to achieve his sound with the MKV? Please don't mention the option of kidnapping him, having his arms transplanted to me and with some kind of weird machine transfer his knowledge into my...

Help! Al di meola tone hidding somewhere inside the Mark V?

Niiiiice! I wish that he could return to his older style, and put the acoustics aside for some time. To each his own, but man those records from the 70's and his work with return to forever is just awesome! That's why I want his tone so badly!! I think I'm getting addicted to that percussive...

Help! Al di meola tone hidding somewhere inside the Mark V?

LOL I read that as well! How cool is that? Any info on some pedals maybe? I really just need some guidelines...it's hard to find this kind of info anywhere on the web. Good news though...while trying to dial some Di meola sounds, I stumbled upon some GREAT tones, that I wasn't too familiar with.

Help! Al di meola tone hidding somewhere inside the Mark V?

Hi everyone! New Mark V user here...and Mesa Boogie for that matter... I'm a huge Al di Meola fan, and lately i've been trying to emulate his sound on Casino and Elegant Gipsy... Any suggestions on wich mode/channel to use on the MKV? The closest I got was on edge mode, channel 2 - it seems...
