    NAD JP2C, well ok, almost

At 9o'clock mines approaching moderate drum levels. Mines a 2018, so I couldn't tell you about the transformer differences. Mine came with 440's. I've been using 441's for a couple of years now though. Liking them better than the 440, 443, 445, and 448's I've tried.

    Mesa el34 str448

448 are 6l6. 446 are el34. According to Mesas website.

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

Every thread on this always ends up the same. Which 2c+ would be ideal. Opinions seem to vary a lot. Given that and the manufacturing issue of parts availability and cost of doing it, I don't see it happening. Got to keep in mind also, while mesa fans hold the 2c+ in high regard, in the overall...

    JP-2C Reverb

The reverb from channel 1 comes from a different place in the circuit than channels 2 and 3. They have a bit less depth to them than channel1 (setting them in the same position, channel 1 will have more of reverby(?) sound). The feedback issue is not right though. Tube 4 is the reverb send and 3...

What types of effects are you using with The JP2C+

I ordered the tubes from Tube Depot and just specified what amp it was for and they made sure they were in the proper range for me.

What types of effects are you using with The JP2C+

Mesa branded/tested tubes are pretty much non-existent these days. Don't know when that will change. I just recently got new tubes when one of mine flaked out a few weeks ago. I went with new production Tung Sol STRs. So far they're working fine for me.

What types of effects are you using with The JP2C+

The RJM is awesome. I do make presets set up in banks. It's nice because I can make changes on the fly with different pages I have setup. 1st page presets, 2nd page loops, and 3rd page amp switches. Through midi you can switch all the functions including shred (although I don't use that). The...

What types of effects are you using with The JP2C+

This is what I'm currently using into the front of the amp. The RJM controls everything. The footswitch off to the side Starts and stops recording in my DAW. The reverb pedal I only use when I'm going through my Friedman Dirty Shirley.

Gain issue + 443 vs 440 power tubes

I just take the front panel off to change the tubes. It's much easier getting in there. Good luck. Hopefully you get it sorted out. It's a great amp.

Gain issue + 443 vs 440 power tubes

Normally I would say it sounds like a tube issue, but, if it were it should effect channels 2 and 3 not just 2. They use the same tubes. Are you just using shred on 2 or 2 and 3? As far as power tubes I've gone the opposite. Mine came stock with 440 and I switched to 443. Made only a slight...

Which will suit me better, JP2C or Mark V?

The JP2C is a great amp and can do all that you are trying to do, even the cleans. I do find the clean needs more volume to sound it's best compared to the gain channels though, but I think that has more to do with getting the speakers moving and not the amp itself(which is the problem I think...

    CabClone IR???

There is no firmware to update. It's all hardware in the cab clone. I have the JP2C with it built in and like you am not crazy about it. I'm sure Mesa will be more than happy to sell you a cabclone IR though!!! I'm using a Two Notes captor x and I'm really liking it. Sounds way better and is way...

    JP2c not enough gain/thin sound?

No, the gain on channel 1 should not affect the other two channels.

    JP2c not enough gain/thin sound?

Unplug everything ,check all your cables then just hook up straight in with nothing but the guitar, head and cabinet. Nothing in the effects loop. Nothing in between the guitar and the amp. If it's not tubes or a bad cable or connection ,then I'm out of easy ideas for what it could be. That...

    JP2c not enough gain/thin sound?

The only thing I can recommend is doing a total tear down, then hook up just the guitar>cable>head>cab and go from there. Hopefully you can figure it out. I think it's a great piece of gear and you should be enjoying it without all the Issues.

    JP2c not enough gain/thin sound?

I actually don't find this amp to be that volume dependent as some amps for good tones. The biggest difference the volume makes is what it gets the speakers doing and I can adjust for that with a very slight EQ adjustment.

    JP2c not enough gain/thin sound?

Here's something I was working on this morning. https://soundcloud.com/tjt73/song8/s-fsrBS0IK4sK Settings are as in the picture. Used a Les Paul with 57 classics into Mesa JP2C and Mesa vertical 2x12 with Mesa V30's. Using a Sennheisser E609 into a MOTU M4 going into Studio One.

    JP2c not enough gain/thin sound?

For me to get that sound I have to have the gain turned down below 12 o'clock. I can't tell you what the problem is, but on mine it's definitely got a lot more grind than that and I use medium output humbuckers (gibson classic57/57+ and burstbucker1 and 2).

Just picked up a used JP2C..Issues

Yes. Same size connector as the 5 pin.

Just picked up a used JP2C..Issues

Not sure about the noise, but the footswitch issue could be the cable. For full function it needs a 7 pin midi cable. A 5 pin will work but the indicator lights won't come on as you described.
