To get more open sound out of my DC3 lower the "Preamp"gain and crank the "Master output" and control the over all volume with the "Channel Master".Doing this gives my amp a much more open rich powerful sound.It actually gets quite heavy.Try it,you may be suprised.

No,the factory set bias on th DC3 is set hotter then a pistol. -11v with the plates running well above 400 volts.

the "Studio Caliber" is the correct name of the DC2.When I had mine I used a Peavey Scorpion speaker,mainly becouse I cranked the amp to keep up with a very loud band.I remember it sounded fantastic with that amp.

cool,mine was conveted to serial loop before I bought it,so mine does'nt have that issue.Hope it all works out,sounds to be a cool setup.

BobR bias mod update:Did the mod months ago.Several gigs at loud volumes and still running great!! -14v bias and going strong.

make sure your using the main out of the triaxis.Also you want to turn the GEQ to off.If it'sa older DC you may need to clean the jacks up.Also modding the fx loop would be easy to do.My loop works well with my modelers.(serial mod)

after further noodle's,the lower gain tubes work out real well for home use,but the 12ax7 is were it's at when it comes to the full band thing.IMO of course.I think for recording it would also be better to have the lower gain for less noise.I've also realized that different 12ax's make big...

Heat issues are pretty much like the DC3,It needs the bias modded to generate less heat and prolong tube life.As far as GEQ goes.You would most likely run it in the FX loop.You would probly need a EQ that handles a line level signal.(not completly sure on that tho)A lot of it would depend on how...
