Trade: My Rackmount Kit for your Combo cab

I have a rackmount kit for my mark iv that I'd like to trade for a combo cab. I can throw in some extras to make it an even deal. This is the kit with the fan. It should fit all mark series amps that fit the small combo and short head. e-mail [email protected]

Rack Mount Kit for Mark IV

Actually, I find hauling around a 6 space regular rack and a 2X12 a pain sometimes......I'm looking around for a empty combo cab right now.

Mark IV - Loudness reduction on Presence Pull-Shift ?!?

my volumes drop as well when I pull the R2 or Lead prescence control. I think this is normal.......its a lot more noticible at lower volumes I believe.

    Wireless

I used to run a sennheiser digital 1000 wireless. I sold it, but it sounded great when i used it....they can be found for around 200-250 used.

The inevitable "what does your username mean?" pos

When I was in college, I used to dowload lots of uh...."free" software. I always registered it with Bob Barker as the name and Merv Griffen Enterprises as the company. Well.....bob barker was already taken as a yahoo account so i used this. ......but my friends sometimes call me Skip...

    Mark IV Settings.....

I would be cool if you added a place in that database to add a link to a soundfile.....(from an mp3 hosting site, not on the grail tone site) That way you could hear what the settings sound like....... just a thought

    Rumors?

Somebody on the Harmony Central Amp Forum said he talked to a guy at Mesa and that he hinted there would be another mark......so I'm assuming it would be a Mark V Now the question is...... where are they gonna put any more knobs and switches????

    Mesa Boogie 2:Fifty

the second setup sounds correct----- guitar - preamp - gate - multieffects - amp if you run the gate after your effects, it will cut off the tail end of your reverbs and delays if you run the effects before your preamp, it will sound like poo.

    Dual Calibers

I oughta save up and buy a dc5 or dc3 combo as backup for my Mark IV and for smaller gigs/open mics.......A rackmount head and a 2X12 can get pretty heavy, cumbersome, ......and yeah.....loud as balls.

    Mark IV Settings.....

A few things I've found in the week I've had mine. Lead Channel - Keep the bass control down......like at 2 or so. Keep the lead gain and lead drive knobs at 8 or below. You can make up for the lack of bass on the graphic eq. (I do a pretty deep V on that) If you're playing at a louder...

    Dual Calibers

I saw a guitarist with a DC-5 head playing live a couple months ago ....he usually plays through a JCM800, so the Boogie was his backup...,. He's switched back to the Marshall, but I still think that boogie sounded better. I almost bought a DC-5 combo with a roadcase when I was in college. It...

    '80s Boogies with 16ohm output?

I wouldnt worry about the cabinet with mismatched impedences.....its the Output Transformer that you have to worry about......and then power tubes....and then the power transformer.

Mark IV power section load out?

The energy gets dissapated as heat through the resistor.....i just did a quick search and it might be difficult to find a resistor that can handle the wattage, but if you're going through a slave or recording output I don't think much is going out through the speaker jack.. webersvt sells alot...

    '80s Boogies with 16ohm output?

Don't take this too much to heart.....im not an expert....but You can run a 16ohm cabinet into the 8 ohm jack. The opposite is not true.......never plug a 4 ohm speaker into the 8 ohm jack.....for example There may be some people that will argue with me about flyback voltage (or whatever its...

Mark IV power section load out?

Technically, you could just take a speaker plug and solder an 8 ohm power resistor to the two terminals (AKA Load resistor)......this may have an effect on how the power section reacts however. I wouldnt suggest doing this unless you're a bit of a tinkerer.
