    Roadster volume issue.

That's somewhat interesting. Do you run it in the BOLD mode or in Spongy? What brand / model of preamp tubes do you have in it? Have you checked the voltage coming from the step down transformer to see if it is constant?

    Help with MKV 90 combo

How loud did you have it turned up when you turned it on? If the master volume was at zero, I believe it wouldn't do much, but if you were trying to play loud for 29 minutes with no load, that's usually a recipe for a toasted output transformer, and possibly more.

REISSUE Rumor: Mark IIC+ and 2ch Recto

Well the official channel FINALLY dropped the video with tones that they should have put in the original launch.

REISSUE Rumor: Mark IIC+ and 2ch Recto

To me it really seems like a lot of people don't understand what microphonic FEEDBACK is, or basic trouble shooting to locate the cause. It's a super high gain amplifier, and these people are plugging them into 4x12s in a tiny room, which makes microphonics that much easier to produce. I mean...

New Member - Legacy Mark IIC+ Owner looking for input on potential mods

Because they are factory mods, and I'm not sure if the schematics are even out there. I certainly couldn't find them.

Ahh here we go. DRGX OG vs Reissue DRG.

Mark IIc+ with most “sparkle”? (SR? HRG? …)

From watching way too many videos and reading way to many articles, the sixty watt version is supposed to have the most immediate response when compared to the D H and K models. It's also possible that due to component drift and other things over the years have caused variations. I would think...

REISSUE Rumor: Mark IIC+ and 2ch Recto

I was honestly trying to give Dinesh Lekhraj the benefit of the doubt, but after going back to look at his Mark VII demo, he either has to be being told specifically the type of music Gibson wants on a demo, or somehow even after working at Mesa Hollywood for years he has no idea how to dial in...

REISSUE Rumor: Mark IIC+ and 2ch Recto

I doubt it. It's not like they haven't done reissues before, like the Mark I reissue, or the King Snake, though the latter was a more of a tribute amp than anything else. Also, he left Mesa in, August I believe? That's way to short a time period to develop an amplifier like this. While the...

Mesa Boogie Transformers: Questions and History

Well, this certainly has turned into an interesting discussion. As I have a few Mesas from the 1990s, I definitely should look into the future availability of some of the components in them. I mean, aside from Axial capacitors. I'm unfortunately not familiar enough with the internals of my amps...

Mark V QUESTION ON HEAD OR COMBO

Oh jeez! Widebody 1x12! Is that the ported one they released just for the Mark V? I really should have grabbed one of those when I had the chance, though it's not like I'll probably ever gig with a Mark V. Would have been nice to have a matching one for my Blue Mark V combo.

    Output - Solo Volume Function

Yeah, it is kinda weird, and definitely causes chaos when it gets turned all the way down and people who are new to their amp can't figure out why they have no sound.
  14. T

    Blue Angel Reverb Tank

Yeah, the "part numbers" listed in the mesa store are mesa part numbers, which stay the same even when the supplier's part number might change.
  15. T

    Output - Solo Volume Function

Yep, it's the same on my Tremoverb and Stiletto as well. The loop is part of the same circuit that Mesa uses, and when they added the "solo" function it's pretty much just a secondary master volume, and is part of the circuit as well, as is the "send level" on the back, which is almost alike...

Mesa Boogie Transformers: Questions and History

It seems for the most part that the Power transformer is what people obsess over. They want the 105 or the Export, not the 100. And people go gaga over the early Mark III's that have Mark IIC+ power transformers, just like they go nuts over the early Mark IVs that had the Mark III power...

    Output - Solo Volume Function

When you hard bypass the loop you lose the solo boost and master volume, as they are part of the same circuit. That's why there is "LOOP ON" between the "OUTPUT" and "SOLO" controls.

Mesa Boogie Transformers: Questions and History

With the upcoming Mark IIC+ "reissue" being released, I'm seeing the old questions pop up about the mythical power transformers used in the Mark IIC+ amplifiers and some of the early Mark III, I believe part number 162318, which was available in the 100 and 105 versions. These were supposedly...

REISSUE Rumor: Mark IIC+ and 2ch Recto

John Petrucci, one of the most visible Mark IIC+ fans, is a fan of the HRG, which is exactly why his JP-2C amp was based on that. I honestly would be surprised it he had any interest in the reissue, given that it's not his favorite version, and he already pretty much had his ideal settings and...

Mark V QUESTION ON HEAD OR COMBO

They definitely are! Even heavier than the Road King combo! To get back on track... I think one of my issues is that I tend to pretty much match an amp to a specific speaker. Maybe its an OCD thing, but if I get a new head I'll need a new cabinet that sounds exactly the way I want with that...
