    FS: Mesa MarkIV Long Head

I don't need a trade. And there's no difference between the long/short heads besides some swich placement. Also, it's the "A" version differences? see this thread: http://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=5987

    FS: Mesa MarkIV Long Head

I'm open to the idea of shipping it, but it would probably be expensive, and I can't vouch for how safe UPS will treat it.

    FS: Mesa MarkIV Long Head

Great shape and clean, Mesa tubes, light home use only. I'm hesitant to ship this amp because it's so heavy. Any buyers around New Mexico or Texas interested? I live in Clovis, NM. It's cool if anyone wanted to come by and test it first too. http://img39.imageshack.us/i/mkiv6.jpg/...

Am I crazy to trade my MkIV for an Express 5:25?

Well, the manual says the MkIV puts out 30 watts in Triode/ClassA. And it says power is "reduced somewhat" with Tweed mode. So maybe ~25w or so for my MkIV totally tamed vs the 5w of the Express... :?: Would y'all still say that the Express is just as loud :?:

Am I crazy to trade my MkIV for an Express 5:25?

I have a Mark IV, which I LOVE, but I only play at home and it's just way too loud. I always have it in triode/class A and I have an attenuator which controls it pretty well, but I still can't really crank it and attenuate it and retain the tone. I've been thinking about selling or trading it...

    Mark IV Combo/Amp Attenuator

I use a THD Hot Plate with my MarkIV. It's a little pricy, but worth it. A real attenuator like the hot plate is EXACTLY like a speaker to your amp, so no damage is any more likely with or without one. I'd avoid those $20 volume boxes that go in the effects loop. Those are NOT attenuators...

Thanks for the advice. I may try one of those gold pin tubes too... Cheers

good preamp tubes to go with my mark IV / sed winged C power

Maybe someone can give some experience/advice: I also decided on SED Winged-C 6L6GC's for power tubes, and I'm thinking all JJ ECC83S preamps. My question is what preamps tube positions, if any, would be suitable for the "high gain" version. If possible, I'd like to beef up RHY2 and Lead while...

good preamp tubes to go with my mark IV / sed winged C power

I'll add a question here: :?: Why do you need a "balanced" tube for your PI? On topic because I also want to order preamps to go with Winged C's. I'm looking at the JJ ECC83S's and Eurotubes sells a set with a balanced one included, whereas TheTubeStore just has a sells 5 at a time. Thanks!
