Haven't been around in a bit but here's a condensed version of everything:
I went headfirst into this and removed most of these parts instead of jumping them which has the same effect.
install a jumper over R277
install a jumper over R272, change the cap at C55 from .10uf to .0047uf. (the...
Been a while since I've been around but glad you found what you were looking for in the mod!
Personally I'd leave that resistor/cap (2.2M/82pf) in place as clipping them will cause the amp to not pass signal in some modes.
You could put a 5M5 resistor in parallel with the 680k resistor. This...
I didn't send my 2 ch triple to Mesa as I reverted it to Rev C specs myself, but I also can say there was a noticeable difference in the amp afterwards, tighter, brighter, more aggressive and growl-y mids.
That's one of the biggest and best amp comparisons I've ever seen!
Major kudos to you for that and digging your YT channel as well, got one of the best recto demos as well!
I'd think the reborn dual/triples would be slightly tighter than the RK, less going on in the circuit.
I've heard good clips of the TC-100 but it's thinner and tighter than the rectos, haven't played it in person yet.
Scope it out and see if it scratches that recto itch.
I'd trouble shoot the tubes in the cathode follower positions to see if it clears up.
Also how old are the power tubes?
You could also clean all the jacks, pots and tube sockets if the issue persists.
