Did this end up helping at all?

Should Mesa Have Called it Something Else?

I’m not anti modeling by any means, but the comments of it taking over and tubes going the way of the dodo have been around for decades and it’s still just as silly as they ever were A lot of the cleans on my bands recordings are axe fx 3

Mark VII - dang double gang - messed up FX levels

The Roadster behaves this way as well (well specifically changing from clean to a channel in "modern" mode), which I discovered much to my chagrin as I do extensive looping with my band, and often am layering clean and high gain The work around to this for me was easy enough though, I run my...

    Kruse mod for Mark III

No I would deem that as acceptable haha, but that is different imo (although even then, I don't think there's many mods a III needs)

Should Mesa Have Called it Something Else?

Disagree completely I'm 31. Next to no one in any of the original music scenes around here is using digital. A larger percentage in the djent/prog metal world but it's still a minority. All of this scales up to beyond the local level too 🤷‍♂️ Most of the gen Z kids are playing fender tube...

Picked up this Mark III amp this week - red stripe DG

Congrats! I miss my red stripe a lot

    NAD!

Yeah I'm pretty impressed with it. I very briefly tried it with my 50 watt 5153 too, and it sounded great with that too, more lowend than the 2x12 evh cab

    NAD!

Update: grabbed a widebody closed back 1x12. Sounds excellent. Does have the MC90, but I like these speakers just fine

New amp day - Mesa Mark III - no stripe - #25

    That is incredible!!! Congrats!!

    NAD!

Yeah I've got a couple 2x12s I want to try it out with. Although I'm not certain if they'll be the best suited for a mark but worth trying. One is a front loaded with T75s. I also have an EVH 2x12 with H30s but that won't have the power handling for the mark

    NAD!

Its a C90. Was hoping I'd luck out with an EV but at the price I got it for I can't really complain lol. I'm considering a headshell conversion, I've often struggled a bit with high gain sounds and an open back cab, but I do appreciate the all in one convenience for gigs (especially since it...

    NAD!

Lol! It's usually sitting on a cab, this photo was taken day after a gig and I hadn't set my tower back up yet

Scored this export model for a mere $1k! Using a step up transformer right now, but from what I've seen from schematics the exports have multiple taps? So getting in touch with some local techs to see whats up. Serious steal though!

Mark IV export model.... does it have taps for USA voltage?

Hey all, I've been going through a saga of trying to score this Mark IVb combo, went to test/purchase on saturday, powered on but wasn't getting any sound. Long story short the fellow was european and not a musician, and after poking around I realized that it was a 240v export model (I'm in the...

    New Amp Day !

Haha if I ever have both my 4x12s in the same room I will for sure Pretty basic settiongs on my SD-1, level all the way up, gain almost off but on just a few clicks, and tone around 1 o clock

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

I'd prefer a Mark III Reissue

    New Amp Day !

Agreed, I love mesas so much haha. I had a rectoverb 50 combo for a bit as well I am using an SD-1 for boosting as well with the roadster. Crushing!

Balancing channel volumes for looper pedal on Roadster

Yes, this only happens with modern mode, which is my favorite for the high gain haha. Fortunately, I did figure out how to fix this. As long as I'm running channel 4 in 50 watts, and my cleans in 100 watts, there is no volume jump issue. Everything is all balanced. Works like a charm!

Balancing channel volumes for looper pedal on Roadster

Second followup, without a knob twiddling balancing act - the easiest way around this is actually to run the clean channel in 100 watt mode, and channel 4 in 50 watt mode. Instantly remediates any issue
