I say keep the Mark. Although, Mesa did say the Deuce was designed to pair very well with a Recto. My Recto + Mark set up always puts a smile on my face :D

The RKII is dark like the Roadster. However, you can brighten it up with the presence knob, or you can throw a EQ in the loop.

Mark III's eat those amps ALIVE... IMO. Sorry that the Roadster isn't what you thought it would be... bummer. What cab are you using? and what are your EQ settings on the Roadster and 10 band EQ?

If you love the Recto sound, the Road King is the ultimate Recto. With the RKII you will have... Better cleans. Better reverb. 2 great loops. 5 Tube options between 2 EL34 and 4 6L6. The cabinet switching is great too. Also, the RKII delivers a smoother, darker, less fizzy distortion than the 3...

Guitars-->Maxon808-->Quad-->50/50-->RK cab. Delay and chorus pedals in the loop. Yummy tones.

I bought some JJ pre's (along with others) for my Quad preamp. Then out of curiosity I threw them in my Road King II and was not impressed. Dull and lifeless is how I wold call it. They worked better with the Quad pre, but still not a very impressive preamp tube, IMO. However some Tungsols with...

Is the Roadsters lag really a few seconds? That is ridiculous!!! My Road King II lags but its a very, very short lag. It's almost instantaneous, and I ran my RKII for hours in a small 9'x14' room with 3 other peeps and I never noticed it get worse.
