Which do I keep? Mark IV or Stiletto?

I say keep the Mark. Although, Mesa did say the Deuce was designed to pair very well with a Recto. My Recto + Mark set up always puts a smile on my face :D

Check my new clips - RKII, MKIV, Dual Rec content

CJG. I got to listen to the new album. Very impressive tones!!! I assume it was done exclusively with the amps mentioned above, but we all know when we assume.... Anyways, I was wondering about the solos. Were they all done with the RKII? Just waiting for copy to come in the mail :D

    Road King and Roadster "darkness"

The RKII is dark like the Roadster. However, you can brighten it up with the presence knob, or you can throw a EQ in the loop.

How do I get more bite out of my Roadster?

Mark III's eat those amps ALIVE... IMO. Sorry that the Roadster isn't what you thought it would be... bummer. What cab are you using? and what are your EQ settings on the Roadster and 10 band EQ?

Should I buy a Road King? School me, PLEASE!

If you love the Recto sound, the Road King is the ultimate Recto. With the RKII you will have... Better cleans. Better reverb. 2 great loops. 5 Tube options between 2 EL34 and 4 6L6. The cabinet switching is great too. Also, the RKII delivers a smoother, darker, less fizzy distortion than the 3...

For those running a Quad pre or Studio pre: what's your rig?

Guitars-->Maxon808-->Quad-->50/50-->RK cab. Delay and chorus pedals in the loop. Yummy tones.

    RK Fan Noise

I don't think it's that bad. My computer fans are louder. Just keep turning it up until you can't hear them no more.

Roadster Head: Front End Retube Kit

I bought some JJ pre's (along with others) for my Quad preamp. Then out of curiosity I threw them in my Road King II and was not impressed. Dull and lifeless is how I wold call it. They worked better with the Quad pre, but still not a very impressive preamp tube, IMO. However some Tungsols with...

    Santana's Mesa rig?

Yeah, I caught that one too.

What is your cabinet choice with your Recto?

Mesa Road King cabs and the "old school" Boogie Halfbacks.

    waiting for ordered amp

I had to wait 9 months for my Road King II. The waiting was exhausting, but was well worth it in the end. Hang in there!

    quad IIc+?

From what I understand the Quad is more IIc+ than IIC http://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10231&start=0

    Strange things happens with Roadsters!

Is the Roadsters lag really a few seconds? That is ridiculous!!! My Road King II lags but its a very, very short lag. It's almost instantaneous, and I ran my RKII for hours in a small 9'x14' room with 3 other peeps and I never noticed it get worse.
