    F-100 2-12 tone controls

    Does anybody else here have one? The tone controls, particularly on the overdrive channel , they don't seem to do hardly anything. I can only really get one "tone" from it. I have tried the settings in the manual, ect. New tubes. I have played alot of other amps and this has never been an issue...

    I bought an RCA 12AX7 today from a guy that works on old radios. He said it tested at 130%, whatever that means. Are these good for a guitar amplifier?I have read some pretty positive things about them but not exactly sure which one I have. The writing is pretty faded. Most I can make out on it...

    Pulling tubes and the 60/100 watt switch?

    Hello, I was wondering if it is possable and safe to remove two of the power tubes and put the 60/100 switch set to 60 ? Which in theory would give you a thirty watt amp?? True or not true? Safe or unsafe? ......oh yeah, change the speaker plug to 4 ohms. I don't understand this part exactly...

    Hello I finally got a mesa boogie after many years of wanting one. I traded a guitar for the f100 212 combo. I like the amp ok but am a little dissappointed with the overdrive channel. I like the tone of it but it sounds muddy...not much definition. What I am wondering is if you crank it really...
